If reports are to be believed then Sanya has bought the apartment for ~14.3 crore. LUDHIANA | SATURDAY | 6 NOVEMBER 2021 Gunning for toy guns Dwayne to stop using real guns during shoots Dwayne Johnson’s new movie titled Red Notice, also starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, is set to be released on Netflix on November 12. The movie is touted to be an action-packed film having significant firearm sequences. Now, ahead of the release, owning to the recent tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on Alec Baldwin’s film Rust, Johnson has reportedly pledged to stop using real firearms on all projects that are produced by his company. The actor said, “First of all, I was heartbroken. We lost a life. My heart goes out to her family and everybody on the set. I’ve known Alec for a very long time. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can tell you at Seven Bucks Productions, any movie, any television show, or anything we do or produce, we won’t use real guns at all.” Yami Gautam & Aditya Dhar Varun Dhawan & Natasha Dalal Here’s how Bollywood celebs celebrated Diwali 2021 A FTER last year’s lockdown Diwali, the festival of lights this year was celebrated with much zeal and enthusiasm. Social media was filled with posts of celebs dressed up in their traditional best, celebrating Diwali 2021 with family and friends. Power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt made heads turn as they were clicked together attending Diwali puja. Alia was seen in a violet lehenga from the collections of Sabyasachi, whereas Ranbir opted for a navyblue kurta and pyjama, looking suave as always. Priyanka Chopra also performed a Diwali puja at her home in Los Angeles with hubby Nick Jonas. The actress wore a yellow saree with pallu covering her head as she performed the rituals with Nick, who also wore Indian attire. Meanwhile, Action zone Rohit Shetty pans out a masala entertainer out of the tried and tested good cop versus bad cop formula Director: Rohit Shetty Cast: Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, Javed Jaffery, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Kumud Mishra, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer, Vivan Bhatena and Mrunal Jain Rating: ★★★ Sheetal Sharing the release date with Marvel’s Eternals, what Sooryavanshi offers is a slice of Rohit Shetty’s high octane cop-multiverse that he has woven around his three action-loving cops—Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Alshay Kumar. Introducing Akshay into the mix of Singham Ajay Devgn and Simbba Ranveer Singh’s antics, his character Veer Sooryavanshi actually strikes a balance between the two. Won’t say it was the fire cracker this Diwali but more of a foundation laid for bursting fire crackers some other day. The expectations were high from the writing team, especially when Singham and Simbba gave us some unforgettable dialogues and puns. Not a single phrase stays with you when you walk out of theatre but yet it has that entertainment quotient going, especially in the last half an hour when the three big Bollywood heroes come together. That’s Rohit Shetty for you who pans out a masala entertainer out of the tried and tested formula of good cop versus bad cop. Amid all the mind-blowing action sequences come two romantic songs, one being the Tip Tip Barsa rendition. Only we liked the original one featuring Raveena Tandon more. With the multistarrer cast, it is impossible to remember all the characters just like Sooryavanshi (Akshay), who has the habit of forgetting names, but nevertheless his acting grows on you as the movie progresses. Veer’s spectacular entry in a helicopter takes us back to his Khiladi years and of course, Rohit has moved on from cars to those flying scenes in the air. The film starts with Ajay Devgn’s voiceover on multiple blasts which also includes 1993 Mumbai blasts and progresses towards the all too familiar script of unity, sacrifices which cops make when it comes to their family life, and ends at the hero saving the day. Javed Jaaferi, Gulshan Grover and Jackie Shroff are a delight but their characters don’t add much weight to the story. The spotlight is on Sooryavanshi but we have seen him perform better. With improved Hindi diction, Katrina shines but she doesn’t add much weight to the storyline either. A family drama getting all entangled in bomb attacks seems kind of forced but that’s how Rohit Shetty films are. Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan Lights, love & more MOVIE REVIEW SOORYAVANSHI Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt Dia Mirza with family Kajol posted a picture of her in a white saree with a red border as she happily posed with Ajay Devgn and son Yug. Ajay and Yug wore black pathani suits. Celebrating their first Diwali post wedding, Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal were all smiles as they posed for the paparazzi. For the occasion, Varun wore an off-white kurta while Natasha opted for a yellow salwar suit. On the other hand, Dia Mirza posted for a family picture, giving a glimpse of son Avyaan, as she celebrated her first Diwali with husband Vaibhav Rekhi. Yami Gautam also shared pictures for her first Diwali with husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar. Other celebs, including Hrithik Roshan, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kareena Kapoor Khan, also posted pictures of their Diwali celebrations. Ayushmann Khurrana & Tahira Kashyap Sibling revelry Though the lockdown has been lifted, celebrities are still playing safe and avoiding travel. On Bhai Dooj, we ask celebs how they are planning to meet their siblings this year, virtually or in real TECHNOLOGY TO THE RESCUE Anupama Solanki SUPPORT SYSTEM Aakash Ahuja AFTER THE BREAK Himanshu Malhotra We celebrate this festival like Raksha Bandhan. My brother is my best buddy. Most of the times, I celebrate Bhai Dooj at my hometown. Unfortunately, this time, I am down with viral fever and had to cancel my tickets. Now, I am in Mumbai, but will catch up with family via video call. I don’t have a sister, but my brother Yuvraj Ahuja means the world to me and having a sibling is way more than having a best friend for life. I think they’re your guardians when required. They fight you when you need to be corrected in life. They’re your support system. Mine is, torch wood. Having a sibling is a blessing. You not only get a best friend for life, but also a partner in crime and guide. For me, Dharti Bhatt is more than a sister. She is not my real sis, but has always stood by me. This year I am busy shooting for my show Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei, but I will try to meet Dharti. Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on Friday shared a heartfelt note to wish her husband and star cricketer Virat Kohli on his 33rd birthday. Anushka shared a picture posing with Virat in Dubai. In the image, the two are seen hugging each other, dressed in Indian wear. Alongside the image, she wrote: “No filter needed for this photo and the way you lead your life. Your core is made of honesty and guts of steel. Courage that pales doubt into oblivion. I know no one who can pick themselves up from a dark place like you can.” “You grow better in every way because you hold on to nothing in you as permanent and are fearless. I know we are not ones to talk to each other through social media like this but sometimes I just want to scream and tell the world what an amazing man you are. Fortunate are those who really truly know you.” She added, “Thank you for making everything brighter and more beautiful oh, and Happy Birthday cuteness!” Virat dropped a comment, where he called Anushka his “guiding force”. “You are my strength. You are my guiding force. Grateful to God everyday for us being together, my love.
