FORECAST GENERALLY CLOUDY 5 more held in Civil Hospital murder case Ludhiana, July 19 The Ludhiana police claimed to have nabbed five more accused wanted by the police in the murder case of Shavan Kumar (15), who was brtually killed at the Civil Hospital here on the night of July 14. The accused have been identified as Sahil Sorpi, Vishal, alias Machal, Manpreet Singh, alias Mannu, Ankur and Vikas, all residents of Tajpur Road. Earlier, three persons — Abhishek Vidlan, Sahil Birla and Gagan Kumar — were arrested in the case. Commissioner of Police (CP) Kaustubh Sharma, JCP (City) Narinder Bhargav, ADCP-1 Rupinder Kaur Sra and ACP Ramandeep Bhullar addressed a press meet in this regard. Sharma said a steel drum and a sword, which were used by the accused to commit the crime, was also recovered from them. Four other accused, Viru, Sanju, Seema and Rishav are yet to be nabbed. DEATH OF 15-YEAR-OLD DOMESTIC HELP Ludhiana, July 19 A day after the mysterious death of a 15-year-old domestic help, native of Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, whose body was found hanging from the ceiling fan on the top floor of a house in Upkar Nagar, here, yesterday, the Ludhiana police on Tuesday registered a murder case against the employer. The accused has been identified as Ajay Sharma (65). Notably, yesterday the kin of the girl had held a protest outside the house of the accused. They had been alleging that the employer first raped the girl and later, killed her to conceal the crime. He tried to make it a case of suicide by hanging the girl from the ceiling fan. A protest had also gone violent yesterday when her kin and residents confronted the police. The police also had to resort to mild lathicharge to disperse the protesters.
