On Saturday, it was a narrow escape for commuters when a big pit appeared after a portion of Sua Road caved in at Passi Nagar, near Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar, here. The portion of the road suddenly caved in when a truck was passing over the stretch this morning. When some commuters noticed the pit that was said to be over 15-ft-long and about 10-15-ft-deep, they placed bricks and other noticeable things around the damaged road portion to alert other motorists. The road stretch was later closed for traffic movement. The cavedin portion was filled with water. The MC was yet to find out the reason behind the accumulation of water and soil erosion beneath the road. The Tribune, the largest selling daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the paper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
The English edition apart, the 133-year-old Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
