Sector 37 resident Yogesh got a call claiming his sister had her husband were arrested over a fight in Canada and needed to pay ~2.50 lakh for release. The complainant deposited ~1 lakh to the bank account given by the suspect. Also, Tarlochan Singh Sibal, a resident of Sector 44, was duped of ~2.50 lakh by a suspect posing on the phone as friend Kirpal Singh from the UK. Cases have been registered. TNS 1 HELD FOR THEFT Chandigarh: A Maloya resident has been arrested for alleged theft at a house at Attawa village. Complainant Harsimranjeet Singh claimed an unidentified person stole his wallet, a silver bracelet, bluetooth speaker from his room. A case was at registered at the Sector 36 police station, following which suspect Amit Mehra was arrested. TNS Tribune News Service Mohali, November 30 The Sector 109 T-point on the Kharar-Banur-Ambala road has become an accidentprone zone with frequent mishaps being reported here. A busy intersection with fast-moving vehicles and no traffic lights or police personnel, negotiating it is fraught with danger. To make matters worse, the spot is not properly lit in the No traffic lights, cops; stretch full of potholes absence of streetlights. Road users say several patches on the road remain dark, increasing the risk of accidents as also crime, with the area becoming a safe haven for anti-social elements. “The issue of lighting on the Kharar-Banur road needs to be addressed. Deceased Sunder, a father of two and a resident of Phase 11, was coming from the Mubarikpur side and going towards Morthikri when an old tipper, without the registration plates, rammed into the motorcycle head-on. The victim died on the spot, while the tipper driver fled the scene. The police took the body into possession and kept it in the mortuary of the Dera Bassi Civil Hospital. Besides, there will be a ‘doctor desk’ mobile application, containing OPD prescription scanning, patient report view, investigation and treatment order and a doctor’s dashboard. To save patients the hassle of standing in long queues for getting registered, a digital token system will be introduced.
