Of the 11 injured, one man and two women are said to be in a critical condition. The deceased has been identified as Mukesh Muni (32). Vipan Muni (50), Nibha Devi (48) and Manjita Kumari were seriously injured. A construction worker, Raju, said the wall collapsed on the workers when they were digging the ground. Khanna DSP William Jeji also visited the Khanna Civil Hospital to enquire about the well-being of the injured. Jeji said action would be taken against the guilty. The child’s body was found three hours after the incident by his family members. The suspect had killed the boy as the latter had entered his fields to catch a kite. When Ayush’s kin came to know that his body was already claimed by some other persons and even the cremation was also performed, they turned furious and started ransacking the hospital. The infuriated kin first ransacked the mother and child care ward and then took on to the emergency ward and even the office of the Senior Medical Officer (SMO). After the incident, senior police officials, led by ADCP Rupinder Kaur Sran, ACP Ramandeep Bhullar, along with a huge force, reached the spot and calmed down the protesting kin. The incident came to fore this morning when the shopkeeper came to open the outlet and was shocked to see a hole in the wall. The thieves had first created a hole in the wall following which they used a gas cutter to cut open the safe containing the ornaments. CM visits air terminal site Ludhiana, January 5 Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday inspected the ongoing work at the civil air terminal in Halwara near here and asked the officials to expedite the work so that the upcoming international airport gets established at the earliest. He directed them to complete the work in a timebound manner as the state government had already released Rs 50 crore for the early completion of the work. Maintaining that the work on the ambitious project remained stalled for the past few months, he said though it was to be completed by March Asks officials to complete construction work within 6 months 31, 2022, it had already skipped its deadline due to what it termed as the callousness of the previous governments. “After assuming the charge of office, my government has put the work on the project in fasttrack mode,” he claimed, adding that the executing agency would complete the work in the coming six months.
