Kantara 2 will be a prequel This is no gossip… RIP, Rizvi Rishab Shetty is basking in the success of Kantara and while there have been news of another part, now it’s confirmed that Kantara 2 will be a prequel. Earlier, Homabale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur had shared the same news, but now director-actor Rishab has himself spoken about it at a recent event. The film is in the process of scripting and will release next year, and will be made on a huge budget. This is unlike Kantara 1, which was made in just 16 crores. Rishab said, “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support for Kantara. With the blessing of Almighty Daiva, the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year. The idea flashed into my mind while I was shooting for Kantara because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details.” — TMS Mystic & marvellous American band White Sun lifted their second trophy at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The band, which consists of Gurujas Khalsa (singer, songwriter), Harijiwan Khalsa (founder, percussionist) and Adam Berry (producer, instrumentalist) won the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album for Mystic Mirror. They had won their first Grammy, for Best New Age Album in 2017, for their album White Sun II. “Oh wow my heart is beating so fast, thank you so much to the Academy... I’m going to cry. Thank you to everyone who helped create this album, thank you to our producers... Standing with you guys is such a privilege and honour...With this comes more responsibility to bring love and kindness to planet earth. Admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH) for certain undisclosed ailments, Rizvi breathed his last while under treatment late on Monday. Producer Nazim Rizvi, of Chori Chori, Chupke Chupke-fame passes away In his early 70s, his mortal remains were taken to his native place in Uttar Pradesh for the funeral. Rizvi had also produced other films such as Majboor Ladki (1991), Apaatkal (1993), Angarvaadi (1998), Undertrial (2007), Hello, Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain (2010), Qasam Se, Qasam Se, (2011), and Laden Aala Re Aala (2017). However, he is widely known for the musical hit Chori Chori, Chupke Chupke starring Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta. Nevertheless, the film, which shot him into big league, also made news for other unsavoury reasons. Shortly before its release, Rizvi and another financer Bharat Shah were arrested in December 2000 for allegedly diverting tainted underworld-linked money for the movie production. — IANS Clear speak Prakash Raj calls Pathaan boycott campaign a hoax After Pathaan broke many records at the box-office, actor-director Prakash Raj has spoken at length about the people who were threatening the release of the film through boycott campaigns. Lashing out at the hate-mongers, he called the entire campaign a hoax. Prakash said, “They wanted to ban Pathaan. It’s doing Rs 700 crore business…They are just barking, won’t bite. Sound pollution.” He even went on to criticise Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files and said, “It is a nonsense films, but we know who produced it. Shameless. International jury spits on them. The director is asking why he is not getting an Oscar. He will not even get a Bhaskar! I tell you because there is a sensitive media out there. Here you can do a propaganda film.
