The suspect was identified as Jagjeon Singh, a resident of Gagarwal in Khamano. The complainant, Bhupinder Singh Dhillon, a resident of Samrala, told the police that the agent had promised to send his family to the USA and believing on his claims, money was also given to him in advance. Instead of sending the family to that country, the suspect deceived them and kept moving them to other countries. The complainant along with his wife Jaspreet Kaur, daughter Talveen Kaur Dhillon and son Abhijot Dhillon were forced to roam in other countries due to the fraud committed by the agent. The latter did not arrange their visa for the USA. Even the money given to him was not returned to the victims. One week’s time has been given by the NGT to replace the tiles and comply with the orders. A petition was filed by Er Jaskirat Singh and Yogesh Maini in this regard. Jaskirat said despite the NGT orders of 2021, the MC as well as the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) had continued to fix solid interlocking concrete tiles within one meter of prohibited areas. “Such tiles are being fixed above the road level, resulting in waterlogging on roads during rainy days, which further results in damage of the stretches. Dr Akhil Sareen, state president of the PCMSA, said it was decided that the association would observe total OPD closure from September 9 to 14. However, in view of the persistent insistence of the state government to moderate the call for a few days so that discussions can he held, the association has decided three phases for the strike. In phase I, which will be from September 9 to 11, suspension of OPDs will be for the first half, 8 am to 11 am. There will be no elective surgeries, only caesarean sections (both elective and emergency) and life-saving surgeries will be performed. Only Emergency trauma will be available. Man injured in bus-SUV collision Ludhiana, September 8 A Renault Duster collided with a Punjab Roadways bus at Sherpur Chowk here on Sunday. The SUV was badly damaged in the accident. The driver of the vehicle got stuck in it and he was pulled out with the help of passers-by. The injured man was taken to a private hospital by the people. After the accident, traffic movement had slowed down. The driver of the Punjab Roadways bus, Paramjit Singh, said he was coming to Ludhiana with passengers from Patiala.
