Representing 22 countries and territories, the shorts include fiction, documentary, and animated storytelling. The festival will take place from January 22 to February 1 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. NICK ARRESTED FOR PARENTS’ MURDER On Monday, Nick Reiner was arrested for the murder of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, after the couple were found dead at their Los Angeles home. Nick Reiner, 32, spoke openly over the years about his struggles with substance abuse. The family posed for photographs together in September at the Hollywood premiere of Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. Pictures showed Nick with a shaved head and a beard, the only person not smiling. WEIGHT LOSS, NOT BOTOX Actor Rakul Preet Singh slammed a selfproclaimed doctor on social media who claimed she went under the knife and urged her fans not to believe such “fraud” people making statements without factual checks. EMOTIONAL SUNNY ROARS Bollywood actor Sunny Deol made his first public appearance since the demise of veteran star Dharmendra on November 24 at the teaser launch of his upcoming film, Border 2. During the event, Deol looked emotional and was seen getting teary-eyed while delivering one of the film’s dialogues. Actor Jaideep Ahlawat bagged the Best Actor for series (Drama) for his performance in Paatal Lok Season 2. Barun Sobti and Sparsh Shrivastava shared the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor in a comedy series for their performances in Raat Jawaan and Dupahiya, respectively. Director Vikramaditya Motwane bagged the Best Director Award (Series) for Black Warrant. While Ananya Panday secured the Filmfare OTT Award for the Best Actress in the comedy series Call Me Bae, actress Monika Panwar bagged the same award in the drama category for her performance in the series Khauf. Written by Jeet Zahoor, the web series is directed by Amardeep Singh Gill. The series features a large ensemble cast including Dilraj Grewal, Molina Sodhi, Shivendra Mahal, Tarsem Paul, Kull Sidhu and Harinder Bhullar amongst others. Speaking about the project, producer Sumeet Singh said that Rajdhani reflects his belief in strong content and fresh talent, adding that compelling storytelling and honest filmmaking matter more than star power. The series is streaming exclusively on Kable One, which continues to expand Punjabi digital storytelling for global audiences under its motto, “Stories from Punjab for the World.” In what might be one of the biggest casting whispers of the season, a highly placed industry source has revealed that global star Nora Fatehi is all set to appear in a major song in Rajinikanth’s mega sequel, Jailer 2. The source shares that Nora is currently in Chennai, shooting an outdoor, high-energy dance number — described as an upbeat South-style track that’s expected to become one of the standout moments of the film. The song is reportedly composed by a Anirudh Ravichender and is scheduled to release in 2026 with more details being kept tightly under wraps. “Nora is shooting for eight days alongside Rajinikanth, c m y b which says everything about the scale of this track,” the source adds. This comes right after Nora’s string of massive successes this past year — from viral international hits to chart-topping Bollywood numbers and her rise as a global pop-culture face. With her recent performances gaining global momentum, insiders are already saying this Jailer 2 track could be yet another explosive addition to Nora’s list of blockbuster songs. Given her proven track record with smash hits and her unmatched screen presence, fans are already predicting that this could be the next big dance anthem.
