Over the years, several actors have stepped into the roles of pilots and Air Force personnel, bringing their own interpretations to characters who take to the skies while navigating challenges on the ground. From Deepika Padukone’s Minal Rathore in Fighter to Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena, here are some actors who took flight as Air Force characters on screen. WHAT’S chandigarh On Air Force Day, we look at actors who took flight as Air Force personnel I Bollywood couple Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra are expecting their second child. The couple shared the news on October 7, with a social media post expressing their happiness and gratitude. Kiara and Sidharth shared a picture on Instagram that showed the couple holding hands, along with the message, “Blessed once again with the greatest gift of all. Our hearts are so full of love and gratitude.” The announcement was soon flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and members of the film industry. Sidharth’s mentor and filmmaker Karan Johar was among the first to react to the post, writing, “Love love you,” along with multiple red heart emojis. Athiya Shetty and Bhumi Pednekar, along with designer Manish Malhotra, also reacted to the couple’s announcement. Kiara and Sidharth tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Rajasthan in February 2023. The couple’s relationship began while they were working together on the 2021 war drama Shershaah, in which Sidharth played the role of Captain Vikram Batra, and Kiara portrayed Dimple Cheema. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Saraayah, in 2025. — ANI SOPHIE TURNER chandigarh ZENDAYA Memory loss, mistaken loyalties and a soundtrack with local roots: Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan-starrer Udta Teer arrives with plenty of noise bold, but there is a soft vibe to her as well.” Asked about the city, she spoke about her Punjabiyat, which comes from her mother. “I am most connected to Punjab through food. My loyalties are specific: white makhan and sarson da saag,” she said. Ayushmann, meanwhile, was asked why his roles vary so much. Earlier, he played a vampire in Thamma. Now, he is a spy who has forgotten his own address. “I like diversifying. I focus on the script. If the script is good, I go ahead with it,” he said. It is a simple rule, and so far it has kept him hard to predict. The film also leans on music for local flavour, with both Kaka and Emiway Bantai singing in it, along with a song by Arijit Singh. “We wanted the film to have a local flavour, so we got Kaka and Emiway on board. One is from Punjab, the other from Mumbai. Arijit is half-Bengali and half-Punjabi too,” Ayushmann said. Whether Udta Teer works will depend on how well its chaos holds together. But the cast looks relaxed and the songs have range. The spy has a new date to remember: October 23, if his memory holds!
