If anyone brings a firearm to a marriage palace, the owner will have to inform the police. The order has been issued till June 19. In another order, Talwar gave directions that there was a complete ban on holding dharnas and rallies within 100 metres of the walls of the District Administrative Complex, Sector 76. The orders will remain in force till June 19. According to an order issued by Yashpal Garg, Chief Executive Officer, CHB, the board has decided to allow transfer or mutation of builtup units without linking the issues of building violations or misuse, after obtaining an affidavit or indemnity bond that the transferee or purchaser will be responsible for all consequences, actions or penalty with regard to the existing or new building violations or misuses. It was a long-pending demand of allottees of CHB units as the owners were unable to get the property transferred due to building violations. As many as 43,729 people have recovered from the infectious disease so far. — TNS Board allows transfer of properties with building violations AFFIDAVIT OR INDEMNITY BOND TO BE OBTAINED According to an order issued by Yashpal Garg, Chief Executive Officer, CHB, the board has decided to allow transfer or mutation of built-up units without linking the issues of building violations or misuse, there would not be any inspection of properties in connection with the applications for transfer or mutation. after obtaining an affidavit or indemnity bond that the transferee or purchaser will be responsible for all consequences, actions or penalty with regard to the existing or new building violations or misuses. The transfer or mutation applications would be processed on the basis of documents submitted with affi- davits or indemnity bonds in the prescribed format. “The properties where building violations are existing and proceedings are going on, the transfer or mutation will now be allowed,” he said, adding that the person in whose name transfer or mutation was being allowed would step into the shoes of the transferor for the purpose of ongoing proceedings or existing violations and would be liable for the same. All pending applications with the CHB for transfer or mutation would be allowed after obtaining a fresh affidavit or an indemnity bond, he said. “It is expected that this initiative will speed up the process of transfer or mutation and will bring more transparency in the working of the CHB,” he said. District Magistrate Amit Talwar issued the directions using powers vested in him under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. As per the instructions, it is advisable to wear a mask in crowded places and also in closed places such as public transport, cinema halls, shopping malls, department stores, classrooms, office rooms and during indoor gatherings. PRADEEP TEWARI Chandigarh, April 22 The police have arrested Ambala resident Tejinder Singh (24) and Dera Bassi resident Kanchan (25) for allegedly impersonating as officials of the UT police near a gurdwara on April 22. However, the move has not gone down well with government teachers. “The UT Administration recently advised teachers and students to wear mask considering the cases in nearby states. TRIBUNE PHOTOS: RAVI KUMAR Colony No. 4 dwellers, AAP protest against UT’s ultimatum Submit memo to Administrator against proposed demolition Tribune News Service Chandigarh, April 22 Councillors and volunteers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), along with hundreds of residents of Colony No. 4, Industrial Area, protested against the ultimatum given by the UT Administration to demolish the jhuggis of labourers in the colony. City party president Prem Garg, vice-president Vikram Dhawan, general secretary Vijay Pal Singh, colony cell in-charge Rajinder Hindustani, and councillors Neha, Prem Lata, Ramchandra Yadav, Jaswinder Kaur, Jasveer Singh and Yogesh Dhingra gave a memorandum to the UT Administrator, which was received by the SDM on his behalf. It was demanded that the colony should not be demolished till people got pucca houses or some alternative arrangements were made. AAP has demanded that hundreds of EWS flats, which are lying vacant in many localities in Chandigarh for years, should be allotted to residents of these colonies. Garg appealed to the Administration that the proposed demolition drive should be postponed and this issue should be resolved amicably by discussions with all stakeholders. Residents of the colony demanded that top officials of the Administration, including the Deputy Commissioner, should come and visit the colony personally for at least a day and try to understand the difficulties of these people and then take an appropriate decision.
