This year’s Met Gala was all about that and more. The theme of the Met Gala 2022 was ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’, the second part of the Costume Pete Institute’s exhibition, which opened on September 18. The Davidson first part of the exhibition was reflected in last year’s theme, ‘In and Kim America: A Lexicon of Fashion’, which was in celebration of all Kardashian things American Fashion. The colour palette was ruled by dresses and suits in classic black and white, with a few sprinkles of red, pink, blue, and metallic gold and silver. Kim Kardashian attended the Met Gala in one of Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic dresses as the reality TV personality appeared on the red carpet with actor-comedian boyfriend Pete Davidson. Kardashian was dressed in Monroe’s nude gold-beaded body hugger, designed by Jean Louis, which Gigi Hadid the late cinema icon wore when she sang happy birthday to President John F Kennedy 60 years ago. Channelling her inner Marilyn, The Kardashians star also dyed her hair blonde. Amit Sadh Big moment Once Upon a Time in Calcutta bags top honour at 2022 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s Once Upon a Time in Calcutta bagged the top award of Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature Film at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). The festival’s landmark 20th Anniversary edition, which returned to in-person screenings and events this year, was held from April 28 to May 1. During the closing ceremony, Anmol Sidhu’s Jaggi won the inaugural Uma da Cunha Award for best feature film debut, as well as the Audience Choice Award for best feature. Irfana Majumdar’s Shankar’s Fairies, which had its world premiere at the 2021 Locarno Film Festival, received an honorable mention. Taking to his Instagram account, Sabyasachi Mukherjee shared all the intricate details of Natasha’s look. In the caption, Sabyasachi Mukherjee wrote, “For me the saree is a truly unique and versatile garment that owns its identity even as it transcends boundaries and geographies. Back when I was a young, as a fashion student I often wondered when I would see the saree at a big global event like the Met Gala.” He mentioned that the saree was made with semi-precious stones, crystals and more. In the short film category, the Grand Jury Prize went to Amrita Bagchi’s Succulent, while Megha Ramaswamy’s Lalanna’s Song and Akanksha Cruczynskidirected Close Ties to Home Country received honourable mentions. The short film jury, which included Geetika Lizardi, Sid Mehra and Carey Williams, awarded Salar Pashtoonyar’s Bad Omen the Grand Jury Prize for best short in the inaugural Spotlight on South Asia section. The Audience Choice Award for best short film went to 7 Star Dinosor Entertainment by director Vaishali Naik. — PTI Ronit Roy is set to make his international debut with scifi thriller feature IRaH, helmed by Sam Bhattacharjee. His character in the film is a manipulative, narcissistic CEO of a tech company, who creates an AI-based application—IRaH 5.10, through which a person can effectively achieve immortality by archiving oneself. With a concept as different as this one, Rohit considers it one of his best works on celluloid. The actor says, “I think this is probably one of my best works on screen and I say this after all the criticism that I can give myself. I think the whole credit for my work will go to the script and to the novelty of the idea.” Rohit further calls the film a huge responsibility as it’s his first international project, “To play the central character in a film like IRaHmeans a lot to me. It’s a lot of responsibility on my shoul- ders and to carry a film like this, which is so intricately woven, becomes very difficult to keep track of. Of course, there were improvisations on the sets and the credit for that goes to the director. He was very open to all sorts of suggestions.”

The Tribune, the largest selling daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the paper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
The English edition apart, the 133-year-old Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
