ANS When actor Sebastian Stan rocked hot pink on the red carpet, it was obvious that no colour is a taboo when it comes to men’s fashion Mona W OMEN, step aside! Men are here to claim their rightful space at the red carpet! Be it Joe Jonas giving stiff competition to wifey Sophie Turner on the red carpet or Sebastian Stan rocking hot pink or Kid Cudy in floral blue striking a pose at Met Gala, men have upped their fashion game. Colours, cuts, baubles, styles– men are as privy to the best of the fashion world today, and unabashedly carrying the look. If ‘millennial pink’ has been leading the way since 2010, neons too have been reigning supreme for a while now. Now, there ain’t a colour that’s ‘no no’ when it comes to men’s fashion. Footballer Odell Beckham Jr. in jewel green, velvet, hooded ensemble, rapper Kid Kudi in electric blue accentuated with florals, actor Sebastian Stan rocking hot pink in head-to-toe Valentino, the men have boldly carried colours to their public outings making a statement. “Moving away from conservative colours to disciplined image and very English style like hats and simple, neat cuts, the younger generation is growing experimental which is a big boost to men’s fashion market,” says designer Siddhartha Bansal. “In the last 10 years, there has been a massive shift. The market has grown dramatically, thanks to social media, which has allowed marketers to reach out to new customers. And the demand has grown, perhaps not at the same rate as women’s wear, but I believe men’s wear is slowly but steadily catching up,” says Salesh Grover, business head, Corneliani India. And colour is crucial here—it’s a terrific way to stand out,” says Grover. Bansal is only too happy that men are moving away from traditional, stereotypical Oxford look. “What I love is that no colour is now out of bounds. So much so men today don’t mind picking women’s jackets if they like. Bright pop of colour or printon-print for men is relatively new but fast picking up,” says Bansal, who is a fan of Johnny Depp and how he puts together a quirky head-to-toe look is what Bansal admires in Johnny. Ranveer Singh is another favourite. “I admire him for the confidence with which he carries himself. He’s experimental, and often wears our clothes. His style and our sensibilities match,” adds Bansal. Right from chunky chains to metallic hand jewellery, men aren’t staying behind women even in this department. Odell Beckham Jr. On his Met Gala 2022 outing wore a chain by Gabriel the Jeweler. The dressy chain reportedly was made with 300 carats of rough diamonds, 200 carats of emerald-cut diamonds and 2.5 kg of gold! Men today are moving away from staid, customised rings and opting for exaggerated jewellery is sure game changer,” says Bansal. “Increased ornamentation, especially when mixed with other bold style choices, is stimulating to look at in men’s clothing, which has traditionally been very drab. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll dare to wear an earring myself,” jokes Grover. Team HIT: The First Case Banking on nostalgia Time to MOVIE REVIEW celebrate The film has some great action-packed scenes, set in breathtaking locales Salman Khan joins Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi to celebrate the success of Vikram JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION SHE Sharing the motion poster of HIT, Rao wrote that the movie is scheduled to release on July 15. He also mentioned that audiences will get a glimpse of Vikram on June 14. The movie also stars Sanya Malhotra, who reacted to her co-star’s post by dropping clap emojis in the comments’ section. Meanwhile, apart from HIT, Rao also has the movie Stree 2 in his kitty. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor. He also has Mr and Mrs Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor. Director: Colin Trevorrow Cast: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Isabella Sermon, Jeff Goldblum, De Wanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie Rating:★★★ Jurassic World Dominion, as the name suggests, tries to cover much land and sea to take us on an adventurous journey four years after Isla Nublar is destroyed (Jurassic World 2015). From Bering Sea in the East of Alaska to Sierra Nevada Mountains (Spain) to Utah (America) to Malta (Europe) and then Italy, the film covers it all, taking us on actionpacked chase after a science experiment goes wrong. It exposes human’s greed to control everything as now there’s an underground racket that owns and trains dinosaurs for their gain, thanks to the previous scientists’ failure to control dinosaurs in a synthetic ecosystem. As dinosaurs now inhabit alongside humans in a c m y b concrete jungle, rescuing them is the task which experienced Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) take upon themselves. A corrupt bio-engineering corporation, Biosyn, led by Lewis Dodgson, creates another problem besides mismanaging the dinosaurs, devising a new locust species to deprive the world of food. But step in the heroes of 1993 Jurassic Park movie, Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Elli (Laura Dern) and Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldlum) and handle it with competence. The old and the new cast blend seamlessly in this well-written script. Jeff with his humour and comic timing keeps us engaged. The great chase scenes where those trained dinosaurs hunt Claire and Owen, take us all over Malta and what a delight it is! However, the last fight between T-rex and the Gigantosaurus looks forced, as it brings back the memory of the last film’s successful climax. Only watching raptor Blue and seeing her reunite with Beta (the offspring Blue) makes for a tearful moment. While the film has some great action-packed scenes, including the mandatory helicopter crash, the film falls flat because of its fast pace. Too many angles in the plot make it chaotic, to say the least. Nostalgia saves the franchise from falling into oblivion but the world has had enough of the dinosaurs-men conflicts. The film’s takeaway — co-existing. Let’s rest it on that. Veteran actor Chiranjeevi hosted an intimate gettogether at his residence on June 11 to celebrate the success of Kamal Haasan’s latest release Vikram. Salman Khan attended this dinner outing with Kamal Haasan and director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
