First, it’s a film you can go and watch with your family. Second, there is a mix of emotion, comedy and some serious discussions on marriage as well as relationships. Like all Karan Johar movies, this Raj Mehta-directorial is a modern tale of a family or what Anil Kapoor’s character, Bheem, in the film would say — ‘progressive’. The subtle introduction to the characters in the opening scene with the backdrop of school-time love, which turns into a marriage, all packed in one song, will leave you with a smile. The movie captivates from the word go. More than Varun-Kiara (Kukoo-Naina), it’s the sondad chemistry of Kukoo and Bheem that is high on entertainment as well as drama. It is set to premiere August 21. — IANS Rest in peace Veteran Odia actor Raimohan Parida passes away c m y b Veteran Odia film and theatre artiste Raimohan Parida was found hanging inside his residence in Prachi Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Friday (June 24). He was 58. His family members found him hanging from the ceiling of his room. Prima facie, it seems to be a suicide case but further investigation is underway. The body would be sent for post-mortem. Known for essaying negative roles, Parida had acted in 100 Odia films and 15 Bengali movies. He was also a popular figure in theatre. Parida is survived by his wife and two daughters. — TMS Parting ways Raftaar, Komal Vohra headed for divorce Rapper Raftaar married Komal Vohra in December 2016, but now the couple is parting ways. They have even been living separately for a while now. They have deleted each other’s pictures from their respective social media accounts and have also unfollowed each other. Raftaar and Komal had filed for a divorce in 2020, around the onset of the pandemic, but owing to the situation, the proceedings were delayed. A source close to the couple reveals, “Everything was delayed due to the pandemic. They will sign the divorce papers on October 6.” —TMS
