Continued on page 2 Ludhiana, July 29 The CIA-2 wing of the city police today arrested a smuggler and recovered 52 kg of poppy husk from his possession. The accused has been identified as Nirbhay Singh (49), resident of Majara village, Sahnewal. The CIA in-charge, Inspector Beant Juneja, said a police party was patrolling Sua Road where on suspicion a truck (registration No. PB10ES9904) was stopped for checking. During search, a bag containing 52 kg of poppy husk was recovered from the truck, he added. Juneja said after recovering poppy husk, driver was taken into custody. Driver would be produced in court to seek his police remand so that during his questioning, drug supply could be busted, he added. — TNS
