He said the Assembly polls would be held with “full transparency” in Jammu and Kashmir after the Election Commission published the revised electoral rolls. This was Shah’s first public rally in the Valley after the revocation of Article 370. “There are some people who have ruled for 70 years and are advising me to talk to Pakistan. But I will rather talk to Gujjars and Paharis of Baramulla, and I will talk to the youth of Kashmir. ANI US envoy visits PoK, calls it Azad J&K’ ‘ New Delhi, October 5 The Foreign Office here has not reacted so far to US ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome’s visit to Pakistanoccupied Kashmir (PoK) this week with the US embassy in Islamabad highlighting it with a series of tweets over the three days that he was in the disputed region. In April, the MEA had not taken kindly the PoK visit of US Congresswoman Ilhan J&K as well as Article 370. But the US envoy’s visit was aimed at restoring Pakistani heritage and cultural sites as well as highlighting the American aid for the victims of the 2005 earthquake and the recent floods in Pakistan. This is the second visit by a US official to PoK. The incident took place around 10 am during a routine sortie in the forward area, a defence spokesperson from Tezpur, Assam, said. INSIDE Tribune News Service Chandigarh, October 5 When Bishan Singh Bedi and Intikhab Alam, former captains of the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams, met at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib on Tuesday, Bedi wanted a song from his old friend. Alam obliged with ‘When The Saints Go Marching’, in the throaty style of jazz legend Louis Armstrong. The two cricketers have a history with this number. “In 1971, when we were part of the same team, the World XI, for four months on the tour of Australia, we formed a Sunday Club for entertainment,” says Alam, who turns 81 in November. “I used to sing during our Sunday gatherings, and Bishan used to love my singing.
