Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child together on Sunday (November 6). And it’s a baby girl! Alia was rushed to Mumbai’s HN Reliance hospital on Sunday morning and later became mum to a beautiful baby girl. Ranbir, Neetu Kapoor and the Bhatt family were all by Alia’s side. Alia and Ranbir issued a joint statement on Instagram that read, “The best news of our lives…Our baby is here...And what a magical girl she is! We are officially bursting with love — blessed and obsessed parents! Love love love…Ranbir and Alia.” The couple posted an image of a happy family of a lion, lioness and their cub along with the statement. —TMS A CTOR Manav Vij will be essaying the role of a Special Forces’ officer fighting militants in Kashmir in upcoming SonyLiv series Tanaav. The web series is officially adapted from Israeli thriller Fauda, which has been appreciated the world over. Manav was last seen in Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, which was also an adaptation of wellknown English film The Forest Gump. Ask him about a well-made adaptation that he enjoyed watching in the recent past and Manav says there are many, “Adaptation is retelling of a story in a different environment, circumstance and cultural influence, which makes it as good as new.” Manav knew about the original series Fauda before the offer to play the central character came his way. He adds, “I had watched Fauda and really liked it. She said, “I have no problem if you have a child without a marriage.” In a recent interaction, Navya also opened about the podcast and how the conversation was not uncomfortable at all. “The whole idea behind this podcast is to create a safe space for women,” said Navya. The star kid feels confident while bringing up and discussing relationship subjects. In one of the episodes from the podcast, she talked about women’s health and hygiene. In order to speak about these subjects, it is important to create a safe, healthy and comfortable environment. In Blood Knot, Michael Douglas plays a father, who, in an attempt to reconnect with his estranged son, invites him to Puerto Rico to compete in a father-son fishing competition. The Young Sheldon director Howard Deutch will helm this adaptation of Bob Rich’s book Looking Through Water. Singer-rapper Aaron Carter dies in California at 34 Aaron Carter, the singerrapper who began performing as a child and had hit albums starting in his teen years, was found dead on Saturday at his home in Southern California. He was 34. Representatives for Carter’s family confirmed the singer’s death. Carter, the younger brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, performed the opening act for Britney Spears as well as his brother’s boy band, and appeared on the family’s reality series House of Carters. Meanwhile, Carter’s fiancé, Melanie Martin, has sought privacy. “We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated ,” Martin said in a statement. Carter opened for the Backstreet Boys tour in 1997; the same year his gold-selling debut album was released. The singer earned acting COMEDY WRITER DAVID DAVIS IS NO MORE Comedy writer David Davis, who co-created the indelible ensemble comedies The Bob Newhart Show and Taxi, passed away at 86 on November 4 in Los Angeles. His death was confirmed on Saturday by his daughter, Samantha Davis-Friedman. Along with contributing to the creation of two sitcoms that are in the Hall of Fame, Davis wrote for The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda. Following his retirement from writing in 1979, Davis served as a consultant on a number of TV and movie productions, including the ABC TV series Phenom; renowned films like 1987’s Broadcast News and the 1983 Oscar-winning Terms of Endearment. Davis, who was born in Brooklyn in 1936, began his career in television as a script supervisor on comedies like The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis and the Gilligan’s Island pilot in the early 1960s. He starred alongside his brother, Nick, and their siblings B.J., Leslie and Angel Carter, on the E! unscripted series House of Carters in 2006.
