The move, which came on the eve of the opening of the grand gardens by President Murmu on Sunday, was widely hailed by Union Ministers and BJP leaders, with many of them describing it as part of the ongoing efforts to de-colonise and indigenise the Indian thought and narrative. The hearing began a few hours after sources here said India had issued notice to Pakistan for modification of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). India has boycotted the Court of Arbitration (CoA) and in the notice to Pakistan, it has called for meetings to resolve the long-standing dispute within 90 days.
