PTI In J-K, three Lt Colonels booked for clash Kupwara: A case of attempt to murder and dacoity has been registered against three Lieutenant Colonels and 13 others for their alleged involvement in a clash at the Kupwara police station. The incident took place on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday and is said to have been triggered by the questioning of a Territorial Army jawan by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in connection with an alleged drug case. A group of armed and uniformed personnel from the 160 Territorial Army, accompanied by senior Army officials, were seen storming the police station, according to a video. The armed group, led by Lieutenant Colonels Ankit Sood, Rajiv Chauhan and Nikhil, forcibly entered the police station premises. INSIDE
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising four eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the paper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
The English edition apart, the 133-year-old Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
