The agreement was formalised by MF Farooqui, ADGP PAP and Raj Malho, , tra, Director of the IAS Study Group, during a ceremony held on the PAP campus in Jalandhar today. ADGP Farooqui said the collaboration aimed to provide high-quality IAS, PCS and allied services coaching to the wards of police personnel at rates. He further stated that the coaching centre, to be inaugurated on the PAP campus, would offer a total course fee of Rs 1,40,000. However, for police personnel’s children, there would be substantial discounts — a 50 per cent reduction for families of officers up to the rank of Inspector, bringing the fee down to Rs 70,000, and a 40 per cent discount for the wards of DSP and higher-ranking officers. To address the rising concerns of noise pollution, Commissioner Sharma has enforced a ban on the use of horns in residential areas between 10 pm and 6 am within the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate Police. Sound systems, including loudspeakers, must now adhere to strict decibel limits, with a maximum of 7.5 dB (A) permitted. Man ends life Phagwara, August 20 A 55-year-old Ranveer Kumar reportedly died by suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Guru Nanakpura locality of Phagwara on Monday. Ranjit Singh, his brother-inlaw, said he along with his family had visited Banga to celebrate Raksha Bandhan but left shortly. Everything seemed fine. However, they were informed of the incident around 6:30 pm. Gang members involved in theft of submersible motors in Jalandhar police custody on Tuesday. Gang behind submersible motor theft busted, three arrested Tribune News Service Jalandhar, August 20 The Commissionerate Police has busted a gang involved in the theft of submersible motors, leading to the arrest of three suspects. The arrests followed a complaint lodged by Desraj, a resident of Lamba Pind, Jalandhar, who reported that his shop was burgled on August 15. Desraj stated that when he returned the next day, he found that 10 submersible motors had been stolen. Acting on a complaint, an FIR was registered at Rama Mandi Police Station on August 16. The police, utilising a combination of human intelligence and scientific methods, identified the suspects as Deepak, also known as Deepu, Sunil Kumar, also known as Jaadu, and Roman. All three reside in the Santoshi Nagar area of Jalandhar. During investigation, the police authorities also recovered three stolen motors from their possession. Commissioner Swapan Sharma disclosed that Roman had five previous FIRs against him, while Sunil had one. Deepak had no criminal record. He said police officials were investigating their role in other thefts in the city. CP Sharma reiterated the police commitment to eradicating crime in Jalandhar, emphasising that such arrests were crucial to ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order in the city.
