The suspects have been identified as Deepak Kumar of Jamalpur, Sunil Kumar of Mundian Kalan, Nandu Kumar of Bihar and Rakesh Kumar of Salem Tabri. The police have recovered three motorcycle, three Activa scooters, one e-rickshaw and nine mobiles from them. Additional DCP (Crime) was returning back to his hotel when he met with the tragedy. The collision was so intense that the car got badly damaged. With the help of bystanders, Rajanpreet was taken to DMC Hospital but was declared brought dead. Rajanpreet was married and is survived by two daughters and a wife. One of his daughters is three years old while the other is just eight months old. In another accident, a speeding Honda City car fell off a bridge near Southern Bypass on Saturday night. A youth died in the mishap while the three others who suffered injuries were undergoing treatment at a hospital. The condition of two of the injured is said to be critical. The youth identified as Bakul Jindal, who suffered serious injuries, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. As per information available, the speeding car going towards South City on the southern flyover from Ladhowal side lost its balance and fell off the bridge. Safety air bags of the car had also gone off. After the accident, with the help of the passersby, the youth were taken to the hospital for treatment. Ludhiana, September 1 A beverage van parked at a fair in Kot Gangu Rai village electrocuted a woman to death. The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Gurmeet Kaur, resident of Neelo Khurd. Gurmeet Kaur had reached Kot Gangu Rai village with her family to pay obeisance at the fair. The deceased’s son Amarinder Singh said when he sat in his car after paying obeisance, his mother Gurmeet Kaur was standing near the van. The owner of the vehicle was not near the van. Interestingly, the apprehended cops are not only low-rung officials but also Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), sub-inspector rank officials. Apart from the policemen other bigwigs arrested by the VB include the former Congress Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, two District Food and Civil Supplies Controllers (DFSCs), Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), a bank manager and three press reporters as well. Sidhu announced that all crops sown by the accused travel agent Harvinder Singh in his fields would be harvested and the amount realised by selling it would be used to compensate the victim family till the last penny is paid back. Addressing a dharna organised in favour of Changli family led by Bhola Singh and his son Jaipal Singh, Sidhu alleged that the state government had failed to protect the interests of educated youth who have been persistently exploited by unauthorised travel agents like Harvinder Social influencer Bhanna Sidhu addresses protesters near Raikot. Singh who was booked for cheating the Changli family on the pretext of sending Jaipal Singh to Canada after marrying his (Harvinder Singh’s) daughter. Though the Changli family had been visiting Brahampur to protest against Harvinder Singh for many days, the situation became tense when the Changli family sat atop a water tank early in the morning today and the protesters announced that Bhanna Sidhu would be addressing the dharna in the afternoon.
