They will be located in Kidwai Nagar and Miller Ganj here. The SOEs will be equipped with smart classrooms, modern infrastructure, labs, CCTV surveillance and playgrounds with facilities for various sports. The SOE in Kidwai Nagar is being built by the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) while the second SOE is being constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD). They also raised slogans against the MLA and the Police Department. The victim’s mother alleged that a teenaged girl was gang-raped and following the incident, two suspects were arrested by the police. Man gets life term for killing colleague Legal Correspondent Ludhiana, September 7 The Court of Harpreet Kaur Randhawa, Sessions Judge, Ludhiana, has sentenced Manga Singh, alias Mangal Singh, a resident of Badbar village, Barnala, at present residing in Mandi Mullanpur, Ludhiana, to rigorous life imprisonment on the charges of killing his colleague Parkash. Delivering the verdict, the court held that the prosecution had successfully proved the guilt of the accused. The plea of leniency raised by him was also declined. He was also fined Rs 20,000. He , sought action against his stepsister for allegedly harassing the buyer also, to whom he sold the land. The complainant, Sharandeep Singh, a citizen of Canada, in a video uploaded on social media from Canada said after the death of his mother, his stepsister had taken possession of all ancestral property. After he fought a court case, he managed to get back 39 kanal of land of his share and got registered the same in his name. In May, he sold the land Sharandeep to Jasvir Singh Singh, NRI and the land registration was also done in the name of latter by the Revenue Department and its possession was given to the buyer as well. “Now, whenever Jasvir, to whom I sold the land goes to plough the land, his stepsister creates a scene and would not let him do the work. I have been visiting the police station frequently to enquire about the status of my case but police officials are only mak- 12-yr-old abducted, impregnated; dies days after delivery Tribune News Service Ludhiana, September 7 A 12-year-old teenaged girl abducted by a youth in September last year died a few days after delivering a child. The Sadar police yesterday registered a case on the charges of kidnapping, rape and culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the suspect, identified as Vikram, a resident of Bihar. The complainant, the girl’s father, said on September 13, 2023, Vikram, who is the brother of his son-in-law, took his daughter along with him to Bihar on the pretext of marrying her. Later, the victim was also impregnated by the suspect. On August 30, when Vikram and his daughter were returning to Ludhiana in a train, the girl faced labor pain. Both of them got off the train at Sonipat and rushed to the Civil Hospital where she delivered a baby boy. On September 1, his daughter, along with Vikram, came to the house of Vikram’s sister in Ludhiana. On September 4, the victim’s health deteriorated and she died, he said. The complainant said the suspect had kidnapped, sexually assaulted and impregnated his daughter. After the delivery of the child, she faced serious health issues due to her young age, which caused her death. He requested that the government should check the revenue records of his land sold to Jasvir, which would prove his ownership. He also urged the Ludhiana police to take action on the complaint of Jasvir which he lodged with the police. “If being an NRI I will continue to face harassment for selling my own land, I would prefer to sell my entire property in Punjab and would never return to the state again in the future.
