Members of the Joint Action Committee have been reaching door-to-door to gain strength and garner support for their indefinite protest that will start from December 8. Today, was the fourth day of their campaign where they have been asking people to join them in the protest. It’s a long fight of the members. They want more people to join them for this cause. “If Joint Action Committee members hold a campaign to garner support for protest in Jalandhar. they can go door to door and ask for votes, why cannot we do this and ask people to join us,” said Jaswinder Singh, president of the committee. The MC elections are due anytime in December and ground work has been started by party workers to get party ticket. The same way these committee members have been adopting various methods to make themselves heard. “If we cannot get these basic civic amenities, then how can we expect other things from our government,” they said. “We are fed up with the lol- lipops that are being given to us by the authorities. They have not given us any permanent solution. Now, the MC elections have been announced and nobody will want us to hold any protest, but how long should we suffer now,” said Jaswinder.
