The Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025, was introduced in the House by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, who said it “sought to correct overlapping and duplicate provisions” in prevailing laws governing immigration and foreigners in the country. Rejecting the Opposition’s charge that the Bill violated the Constitution, Rai asserted the Centre was well within its rights under the Union list to bring in legislations on immigration. The court has sought a compliance report by March 18. The Tribune, the largest selling daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the paper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
The English edition apart, the 133-year-old Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
