The students cheered each other on the occasion and were of the view that success was no accident and one had to go through hard work and perseverance. In the medical stream, Tarishi Singla secured the first position with 99.25% marks. Tarishi will be going to Germany for pursuing mechanical engineering as she had taken super medical stream in Class XII. Her parents are Raman Singla, a doctor at Deepak Hospital, while her mother is head of department in Psychiatry Department at the CMCH. She used to study 7-8 hours daily and it was focussed study. In the non-medical stream, Kyra Pahwa secured the 1st position with 98.25 % marks. Her mother Mandeep Pahwa and father Chetan Pahwa are into business and Kyra has already secured a seat in Duke University, North Carolina. Her interest is in physics. Her Ludhiana, April 30 The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations declared the results of the Class X (ICSE) examination today. Mitali Sood of Sacred Heart Convent School, Machiwara, has topped by scoring 495/500 marks. She is followed by Adaa Gupta from Sat Paul Mittal School and Jasmine Kaur of Sacred Heart Convent School, Machiwara, have scored 494 marks with 98.8% marks, while Anayssa Jain secured third position with 98.6% marks. Mitali wants to join the civil Mitali Sood services. Her mother Shilpa Sood is a housewife while her father Vishal Sood is a businessman. Mitali said that consistency matters and asked the students to follow timemanagement and give equal attention to all subjects. Her hobby is mainly reading and she likes mainly biographies and auto-biographies of leading personalities. A total of 221 students appeared for the examination from Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 39. The school has achieved 100% pass percentage. More than 64 students got above 90% marks. The principal of Sat Paul Mittal School, Bhupinder Gogia, said that the exceptional performance of students in both Class XII and X stood as a testament to the collective efforts of students, teachers and parents. “I am proud of our students and teachers,” said Gogia. In commerce stream, Dishit Matta topped with 98.5% marks. His mother Garima Matta is a doctor at DHCH, while father Harish Matta, a doctor, is working in Fortis Hospital. Dishit used to dedicate several hours to study on a daily basis and was a hardworking child, maintained his mother. She said he played guitar very well and wanted to go into music production. He will be going to UCLA, California, for further studies. In humanities, Shanaya Malhotra topped with 98%. Shanaya has already got many options like Ashoka Universi- ty, Kings College, etc. Both her parents — Shelly Malhotra and Yuvraj Singh are into business. Shanaya has interest in finance and economics. Throughout the year, she was a balanced and focussed student, said her parents. Payal, April 30 Activists of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) today gheraoed Payal legislator Manwinder Singh Giaspura to lodge their protest against the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, when he visited Kalahar village near here during a public contact programme of the Aam Aadmi Party. Though Giaspura tried to pacify the protesters by arguing that all issues raised by them were related with constituencies of other legislators, activists led by Ludhiana district president Charan Singh Noorpura and general secretary Saudagar Singh Ghudani continued raising slogans against the AAP government for allegedly acting against the interests of farmers, labourers and small traders.
