A formal case under has been registered following a complaint by Jaswinderpal Singh, a resident of 1247 Prime Enclave, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar, in this connection. The accused, Sarwan Singh, a resident of Chiherru village, Phagwara, is alleged to have impersonated a lawful representative of Simran Kaur and Jagir Kaur (daughters of Pyara Singh), by claiming to have their legal power of attorney. On November 25 last year. Sarwan Singh reportedly executed a land registry in the name of Amrik Kumar and Okar, sons of Santokh Raj, residents of Baba Phool Nath, Nanaknagri, Chiherru. Further investigation revealed that on December 12 last year the same accused facilitated another land registry involving 14.75 marla property in favour of Kulbir Kaur, wife of Jasdev Singh, a resident of Aulakh village in Kapurthala. The complainants alleged that the accused used forged documents and misrepresentation to carry out the fraudulent transactions despite being aware of an ongoing legal dispute and knowing that the transactions were in contempt of the pending case. The authorities were alerted, and following an inquiry, an FIR was registered. The police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter and legal proceedings are currently underway. One held with 3 illegal pistols AAP playing tricks to divert attention from core issues: Pargat Singh Tribune News Service Jalandhar, July 12 The CIA staff of the city police have apprehended one person and recovered three illegal pistols along with live cartridges from his possession. Commissioner of Police (CP) Dhanpreet Kaur said during a special checking operation, the CIA team was positioned near Workshop Chowk. They received a tip-off that Abhishek, alias Vansh, a resident of Gandhi Camp, was roaming in the area with an intent to commit a crime. The police team acted swiftly, apprehended the accused, and recovered one illegal .32 bore pistol along with two live cartridges from his possession. Subsequently, FIR No. 82 was registered against him under Sections 25(1) (B), 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at Division No. 2 police station. During police remand of the accused, two more illegal .30 bore pistols were recovered. Jalandhar, July 12 Jalandhar Cantt Congress MLA Pargat Singh launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, accusing him of manufacturing daily events and media content to distract public from Punjab’s core issues. He described the sarcastic and undignified remarks made by the Chief Minister against the Prime Minister and Home Minister as a desperate attempt to deflect from real governance failures. “The CM must uphold digni- c m y b ty of his office. Making such statements to divert attention from Punjab’s pressing crises is deeply unfortunate,” said Pargat Singh. He said both the AAP and the BJP were engaged in a superficial blame game, burning each other’s effigies, while neglecting real issues such as law and order, drug abuse, the flawed land pooling policy, sacrilege cases, the SYL dispute, and the National Education Policy. Pargat Singh stressed on the urgent need for a transparent and accountable legislative debate on these matters. He also reminded that the Assembly session was extended based on verbal assurances to the Congress, with commitments that separate days would be dedicated to address Punjab’s deteriorating law and order and controversial land pooling policy. AAP and BJP: Two sides of the same coin Pargat Singh said, “In Punjab, the AAP is giving oxygen to the BJP to help the party gain ground in the state. Meanwhile, in states like Gujarat, where the BJP’s popularity is declining, the AAP is being projected as a substitute Opposition to maintain power within the same ecosystem.” “This is a national-level political design. AAP and BJP are not rivals, they are two sides of the same coin,” he said. “There is coordinated positioning behind the scenes — their real objective is to keep public focus away from critical governance issues,” he said. Why is the CM silent? Pargat Singh questioned the CM’s silence on key national issues that directly impact Punjab, such as the Centre’s National Education Policy and the long-standing Sutlej-Yamuna link water dispute. “Are these not issues concerning Punjab’s youth and farmers? If so, why is the CM avoiding them? He seems more focused on producing social media content and indulging in street-level theatrics than on meaningful governance,” he said. — TNS
