TRIBUNE Life Sophie Gurnaaz A T a time when wellness is trending and fitness content floods every scroll, Sophie Choudry is cutting through the noise with something more grounded and more real. With her latest show Famously Fit with Sophie on MX Player, the actor, singer and host blends movement with conversation, creating a space that feels as unscripted as it is revealing. “Fitness has always been an integral part of my life,” she says, reflecting on a journey that predates the current wellness boom. “But today, more than ever, especially post-COVID, people have realised that health truly is wealth.” The idea behind the show, she explains, came from a mix of curiosity and correction. While audiences are endlessly fascinated by celebrity lifestyles, Sophie is quick to point out the misconceptions that often come with it. “There’s this assumption that people in the industry are starving themselves, which is just not true. I wanted to bring in people I genuinely admire, friends who approach fitness in their own unique ways, and let them share what health really means to them.” That honesty is also built into the format. Instead of the familiar sit-down interview, Famously Fit places its conversations mid-workout…breathless, unfiltered and refreshingly candid. “When you’re working out and talking at the same time, there’s no overthinking. You’re just reacting in the moment. That’s what makes it authentic.” And authenticity, it turns out, reveals itself differently in each guest. While Malaika Arora embodies consistency, she travels with her weights, her mat, even her juicer; she simply doesn’t make excuses”, Sonu Sood takes discipline to another level altogether. “He doesn’t believe in rest days. Even after surgery, he was training his upper body on crutches. That kind of commitment is rare.” Others, like Kriti Sanon and Sonam Bajwa, bring a different kind of relatability. n MX Fit with Sophie o With Famously host blends rPlayer, the singe did conversations n workouts and ca ss beyond trends, e to redefine welln k-fix fitness culture ic glamour and qu shimla W shop chandigarh HANDLOOM EXHI COTTON Expo is showcasing an extensive collection of traditional handlooms, featuring silk and cotton dress materials and more at Kisan Bhawan, Sector 35, on till May 21. CHANDIGARH | TUESDAY | 19 MAY 2026 Nostalgia hits keeps WHAT’S HOT eat EAT & APPRECIATE Dai Dai Pop superstar Shakira has sparked excitement among football and music fans after unveiling a teaser for Dai Dai, the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Monday brought nostalgia among cinephiles with the release of the Welcome To The Jungle title track. The original title track of the first film has been reimagined with new lyrics and, of course, with new members on board. While the song transported many to early 2000s filmy era when Akshay Kumar was ruling the box office with a string of comedy blockbusters, it also drew mixed reactions, with some calling it “messy.” “Music was OK main attraction was nostalgia in the Title track expected a better choreography though,” a social media user on X wrote. “Funny but messy,” another user commented. Many even got excited to see veterans Akshay, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty in one frame together. “Akshay + Suniel what a combo Purane din yaad agye,” a fan wrote. The title track, originally composed by Sajid-Wajid and recreated by Vikram Montrose, has vocals from Shaan, Priya Patidar, and Vikram Montrose himself. Speaking about the music, director Ahmed Khan said, “We wanted every song in Welcome To The Jungle to feel cinematic, entertaining, and mounted on a massive scale. Music plays a huge role in building the world and energy of the film.” The original Welcome released in 2007 featured Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal, and was directed by Anees Bazmee. Its sequel, Welcome Back, released in 2015, starred John Abraham and Shruti Haasan. — ANI Diana Penty brings traditional elegance to Cannes in stunning Manish Malhotra saree look Actor Diana Penty made a standout appearance at the Cannes Film Festival’s Bharat Pavilion, choosing a look that celebrated Indian heritage and craftsmanship on an international platform. Saba advocates sex education in schools Actor Saba Azad has advocated compulsory sex education in schools while speaking about women’s health awareness ahead of the release of the second season of Who’s Your Gynac? In an interview, Saba said that sex education is essential for informed decision-making and should be introduced across all schools. “I think sex education should be compulsory in schools. Because sex education doesn’t corrupt the mind. It informs the mind. Whatever you say, if a child is growing up with information, if he is informed, he will make the right decisons. So I think it’s very essential that this be given to everyone,” she said. The actor also highlighted the lack of awareness and research surrounding women’s health, saying conversations around female reproductive and overall health have historically remained limited. “When it comes to women’s health, we don’t talk about it, nor do we research about it. From 2026, we have now finally started doing research on women’s bodies. Earlier, we used to research on the male body and copy-paste it on the female body, for example, intermittent fasting is very good for males but not for females,” Saba said.
