TNS Offices,LadakhBhawantocomeupon5.45acres Dushyant Singh Pundir Tribune News Service Chandigarh, January 3 The UT Administration has allocated nearly 5.455 acres to two Central agencies and the Union Territory of Ladakh for the construction of their offices and Ladakh Bhawan in the city at a total cost of Rs 189.18 crore. According to officials, the Administration has issued a letter of intent to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for the allotment of nearly 2 acres in Industrial Area, Phase II, at a cost of Rs 68.17 crore to build its permanent branch office. The chunk of land is located near the 3 BRD station. The Administration had earlier identified more than 1 acre in Sector 38. The agency was not satisfied with the available space and requested for a bigger piece of land as the UT branch would be headed by an Inspector General (IG)-rank officer with one Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and two Superintendents of Police (SPs). The Ladakh authorities have paid the amount to the Chandigarh Administration. District Magistrate Vinay Pratap Singh, who had earlier issued directions for capping fuel sale, has withdrawn the restrictions with immediate effect. The limitations on petrol and diesel sales, a maximum of 2 litres for two-wheelers and 5 litres for four-wheelers per transaction, are no longer in effect. Fuel station operators are encouraged to resume normal operations. People enjoy a walk in the sun at the Rose Garden in Chandigarh on Wednesday. The victim, Ramesh Yadav (26), a resident of Sector 41, was on his way to the Grain Market, Sector 26, in the wee hours of Tuesday when three persons, who were in a car, made him stop. The three assaulted Yadav and robbed him of his phone, cash and documents. According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, moderate to dense fog with cloudy sky is likely on Thursday and Friday, following which, there is a forecast of partly or mainly clear sky for the subsequent two days. There was some respite from cold conditions today as the day temperature rose by three degrees to 17.1°C from 14.8°C degree, which was reported yesterday. It is one degree below normal temperature.
