However, famous singers like Kishore Kumar, Mohammd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar or the new-age sensation AR Rahman are yet to appear on screen. Now that Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila’s life has been highlighted for the first time in a Bollywood film by the same name, and Kamal Haasan has announced a project on South’s King of Music, Ilaiyaraaja, starring Dhanush in the lead role, the jinx seems to have broken. We ask filmmakers, music directors, singers and composers as to which ones deserve a place on the big screen. Ae Watan Mere Watan actor Alexx O’Nell, who also Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy is a love letter to stunt performers After serving Kenergy with Barbie, actor Ryan Gosling turns the spotlight on the movie-makers, whose job is to shine on screen while remaining invisible in The Fall Guy. The film is inspired by the popular 1980s TV series by the same name and stars Gosling as Colt Seavers, a top Hollywood stuntman down on his luck after an on-set accident. An ambitious film producer (Hannah Waddingham) manages to pull Colt out of his self-imposed post-injury isolation in order to rescue the directorial debut of the love of his life, Jody (Emily Blunt), following the disappearance of the film’s lead- True heroes ing man, Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Life starts imitating his art as Colt tries to track down the vanished superstar and lands in the middle of a criminal plot. The stuntman has to put on his best performance both on and off the screen to save Jody’s movie — and himself. “I’ve benefitted from the work of stunt people my whole career. They come in and they take the hits for you and then get none of the credit. That ends here. Hopefully the whole conversation is different after this film,” Gosling said as he attended the movie’s premiere in London on Monday. “It’s completely a love letter to stunt performers and the magic of what they create in movies. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, prompted a response from both the studio and the entertainment industry’s labour union. A studio spokesperson stated, “Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several members of the crew were injured as a result.” Reportedly, the mishap involved a truck malfunction that caused it to crash unexpectedly into a car, resulting in injuries ranging from bruises to broken bones. Two individuals were hospitalised as a consequence of the accident. Notably, the film stars Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, and Pete Davidson, though none of them were present on set at the time of the incident. I was running after him, he was not running after me. So I said, when we did Predator… ‘I’ve got to have a bigger machine gun than Sly used in Rambo.
