It was her second attempt, the first was foiled by her relatives residing in Rampur village. The Doraha police were searching for the girl till the filing of the report. Amanjot Kaur, the victim, was running a boutique in the village. It is learnt that she updated her WhatsApp status before taking the step. One of her relatives on the condition of anonymity revealed that the girl was in love with a boy and wanted to marry him. The marriage could not materialise as parents of the couple were against the marriage. But the girl was obsessed with the idea of marrying the boy. As she failed to tie the nuptial knots with the boy, she tried to die by suicide by jumping into the canal. Luckily, she was saved by her relatives who counselled her in every possible way. But she continued to insist for marriage again. Not getting a positive response, she decided to end her life by jumping into the canal again. It is hoped that the same level of support will be extended to the party in the upcoming The AAP Lok Sabha candidate organised a public meeting in the East constituency today, which saw a large turnout. Speaking to people, Parashar said: “I have come again to seek your votes. I hope that you will extend the same love and support to me as you have shown to the MLA of the East constituency, Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal. I assure you that I will not disappear after securing your votes like the BJP candidate nor will I ask you to travel to Gidderbaha for any work like the Congress candidate. You can meet me anytime on Shahpur Road.” He went on to mention that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had revolutionised the country’s politics. Promises made during the 2022 elections had been largely fulfilled within the first two years. Now, even Modi is making similar promises but they are likely to fail, just like the failed promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh into accounts. State Secretary and Markfed Chairman Amandeep Singh Mohi said AAP was a party for the common man, which attracts the public towards it. The successful public meeting in the East region was evidence of the fact. People see their local leader, Ashok Parashar, as their own and actively engage in various programmes in his presence. This support will propel the AAP candidate to Parliament. During interactions with different sections of people here today, Warring reminded the BJP of promises such as giving Rs 15 lakh to every Indian and generating 2 crore jobs every year and none of the two things was implemented during the ten years of its rule. c m y b He said similarly, AAP had promised to pay Rs 1,000 every month to every woman in the state. He said the AAP was in power for two-and-ahalf years now and it had forgotten about the promise. But, he added, the women who were cheated and betrayed have not forgotten and they would make the AAP realise the same on June 1 when they would vote for the Congress. The state Congress chief said: “In comparison, the Congress had always fulfilled its promises on a priority basis. Moreover, the Congress always works for the poor, the downtrodden and the needy.” Warring said the Congress had prepared a revolutionary plan for bringing people out of poverty by providing Rs 8,500 every month to every poor family in the country. The amount would be transferred into the bank account of a woman member of the family. — TNS SAD candidate Ranjit Singh Dhillon during a door-to-door campaign in Jagraon.
