The deceased was identified as Amandeep Tiwari (13). Station House Officer (SHO), Haibowal police station, Inspector Amritpal Singh, said the victim was playing with a rope at his residence on Monday morning. While playing, his neck reportedly got entangled in the rope and he fell unconscious. His elder brother after noticing him unconscious, raised the alarm and called their mother. The victim was taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment but due to his critical condition, he was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, for further treatment. After reaching the PGI, he was declared brought dead by doctors. The SHO said he had verified all facts, based on which inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPc would be initiated. Couple hit by bus, man dies Tribune News Service Ludhiana, July 15 A couple riding a Honda Activa was hit by a bus near Jalandhar Bypass here on Monday. The man suffered serious injuries while his pregnant wife suffered a fracture in leg. People took the injured to a hospital where doctors declared the man dead on arrival. The deceased was identified as Rahul Sharma while his wife was identified as Priyanka, residents of Haibowal. Kanta, the mother of the deceased, said Rahul and his wife were going to a bank and met with the tragedy on the way. The bus driver, who was reportedly drunk, was nabbed by the police. Family members of both victims have demanded that investigation should be sped up and culprits should be put behind the bars. Their kin also alleged that whenever they visit the railway police station to get an update about the ongoing probe, either the officers concerned are not available or they make hollow promises. A 23-year-old Jammubased youth, Tushar Thakur, an Army aspirant, was on the way to Ahmedabad from Jammu to appear in an interview after clearing the SSB exam on May 19 when he was pushed off the moving train by three miscreants. After the victim lodged a complaint against the suspects recently, the Police Division 7 yesterday registered a case against the duo. The suspects were identified as Kuldeep and Mani, alias Raman. The suspects also made a obscene video of the girl. Somehow, the girl opened the lock of the room and returned to her home. While giving information to the police, the victim said she used to work at some factory situated on the Metro road. One of he suspects, Kuldeep, also worked there. She had developed a friendship with him. The youth had also promised to marry her soon. The complainant said on the pretext of marriage, Kuldeep, along with his friend Mani, alias Raman, took her to a hotel on May 27. They forcibly removed her clothes and made an obscene video. When she opposed, they beaten her up and raped her. The victim revealed that she somehow took the key of the door, opened the lock and ran away from the hotel and reached her home. Both suspects were still absconding.
