In an Instagram post, label Sabyasachi shared actress Laura Dern’s — who starred in and executive produced the Apple TV+ period television series Palm Royale — pictures wearing its jewellery on the Emmy red carpet. “Laura Dern wears earrings, bangle, and the statement Palm Avenue necklace from Sabyasachi Jewellery for the 76th Emmy Awards,” read the caption. Bela Bajaria, chief content officer of Netflix, was spotted wearing a sheer black top and a bright pink floral lehenga, crafted by Sabyasachi. Actor-producer Mindy Kaling, best known for The Office, The Mindy Project, and Never Have I Ever, chose her go-to designer Gupta for the 76th edition of the Emmys. Kaling wore a black Gaurav Gupta gown with a sculpted offthe-shoulder detail. She shared a series of pictures in the ensemble on Instagram, calling the gown a ‘dream dress by @gauravguptaofficial’. Actors Rebel Wilson and Allison Janney also opted for Gupta’s designs. — PTI MINDY KALING SHOW STEALER S HOGUN had historic wins in an epic 18 Emmy first season, Hacks scored an upset for best comedy on what was still a four-trophy night for The Bear, and Baby Reindeer had a holiday at the Emmy Awards 2024 ceremony, which had some surprising swerves. Shogun, the FX series about power struggles in feudal Japan, won best drama series, Hiroyuki Sanada won Best Actor in a Drama, and Anna Sawai won Best Actress. “Shogun taught me when we work together, we can make miracles,” Sanada said in his acceptance speech on the stage of the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Along with 14 Emmys it claimed at the precursor Creative Arts Emmys, Shogun had an unmatched performance with 18 overall for one season. Hacks was the surprise winner of its first best comedy series award, topping The Bear. Jean Smart won her third Best Actress in a comedy award for the third season of Max’s Hacks. Smart has six Emmys overall. Despite losing out on the night’s biggest comedy prize after winning it for its first season at January’s strikedelayed ceremony, FX’s The Bear star Jere- JEAN SMART BILLY CRUDUP my Allen White won Best Actor in a Comedy for the second straight year, and Ebon MossBachrach repeated his feat as Best Supporting Actor. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan bags Best Actress award at SIIMA The latest edition of South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2024 saw Aishwarya Rai Bachchan clinching the trophy for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics). She won the award for her performance in Mani Ratnam’s film Ponniyin Selvan 2. Aishwarya was accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya during her winning moment. Several pictures from the ceremony surfaced online. In the visuals, one can see Aaradhya capturing the special moments of her mom while she received the award on the stage at the ceremony, which was held in Dubai on Sunday. Kabir Khan presented the award to Aishwarya. In her acceptance speech, she said, “Thank you so very much SIIMA for honouring me with the award. It means the world to me because this was a movie so close to my heart, Ponniyin Selvan, directed by my guru Mani Ratnam. The Tribune, the largest selling daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the paper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
The English edition apart, the 133-year-old Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
