Twenty gram of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused Pardeep Khosla and Sunil Kumar of Kotli Gajran village. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused. The Nakodar police arrested 'drug peddler' Gourav of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura with 8 gram heroin and 120 intoxicant tablets. OC TWO ARRESTED FOR SNATCHING Phagwara: The Nurmahal police have arrested two miscreants for snatching woman's earrings. The accused have been identified as Lovpreet, alias Labha, and Amardeep, alias Harman, both residents of Mehatpur. The accused had snatched a woman's earrings on February 5 on Bilga road. The police have impounded a motorcycle and recovered Rs 550 and a sharp-edged weapon from them. OC MAN CHEATED OF ~13.56 LAKH Hoshiarpur: The police have registered a case on the charge of online cheating of Rs 13.56 lakh. Manjinderpal Singh, a resident of local Mohalla Saroop Nagar, told the police that an unknown person created a group on Facebook and after making him join it, loaded an app on his mobile. The directive mandates all SDMs to conduct rigorous checks on registered immigration firms. Dr Aggarwal emphasised that the initiative aimed to safeguard aspiring emigrants from fraudulent practices and ensure that the firms operated within the legal framework. “It is imperative that immigration consultants follow the prescribed regulations to prevent any exploitation of individuals seeking opportu- nities abroad,” he stated. The DC has extended a helping hand to young individuals recently deported from the US. He assured them of the administration’s full support in rebuilding their careers through business opportunities, employment assistance and skill development programmes. Dr Aggarwal reiterated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, stood firmly by these youths during their time of crisis. “No stone will be left unturned in providing them with the necessary support,” he affirmed. Two days after two travel agents were booked for ille- gally sending Ramandeep of Nawanshahr to the US, a Banga travel agent has been booked by the police for allegedly duping two brothers of Rs 15 lakh on the pretext of sending them to the UK. Sukhjinder Singh from Baghora village in Sadar Nawanshahr block, in his complaint to the police, alleged that his sons Hardeep Singh and Gurdeep Singh wanted to go to the UK for Two Rajpura agents booked on plaint of deported youth which they came in contact with Shamsher Singh of Banga. “He took Rs 15 lakh and promised to send my sons abroad, but he took the money and never sent them abroad. I want action against the accused,” he said. An FIR was registered. The accused is at large. Recently, on the complaint of one of the US deportees Ramandeep Singh of Ibrahimpur village in Nawanshahr, the police registered a case against two Rajpura travel agents after recording his statement. The accused have been identified as Sahil Kumar and Surjit Singh. He had spent Rs 40 lakh to go to the US, for which he heavily relied on loans. Notorious drug smuggler arrested with 90-kg poppy husk in Kartarpur Tribune News Service Jalandhar, February 14 In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, the CIA Staff, Jalandhar Rural Police, have arrested a notorious smuggler and seized 90 kg of poppy husk from him. The accused was apprehended along with a car during a special operation in the Kartarpur area. The accused has been identified as Lovepreet Singh, alias Love, son of Gurcharan Singh, resident of Sech village, Sultanpur Lodhi police station, in Kapurthala district. Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said following reliable intelligence inputs received by Inspector Pushap Bali, incharge, CIA staff, Jalandhar Rural, a special operation was conducted on Thursday. Villager held for misconduct with govt official Phagwara, February 14 The Jalandhar Rural Police have arrested a person on the charge of misconduct with a senior revenue official at the Naib Tehsildar office in Phillaur. SSP HPS Khakh said following the directives to maintain law and order and pro- tect government functionaries, a special team was constituted under the supervision of SP Investigation, Jasroop , Kaur Bath. Khakh said the police action was initiated following complaints from the Naib Tehsildar in SDM of Phillaur. Admn cracks down on illegal colonies in Kapurthala Phagwara, February 14 Acting on the directives of the Punjab Government, the district administration of Kapurthala has launched a major crackdown on the unauthorised colonies. In a decisive action led by Additional DC (General) Navneet Kaur Ball, illegal colonies along the Begowal-Tanda Road were razed using ditch machines. — OC 11 involved in Phillaur clash arrested Tribune News Service Jalandhar, February 14 In a swift action against public disorder, the Jalandhar Rural Police have arrested 11 persons involved in a violent clash that went viral on social media. The video, widely circulated across various platforms, showed individuals engaging in a fight with deadly weapons near the Jalandhar Bypass railway line in Phillaur. The police have also recovered a country-made pistol, a cartridge, a spent cartridge, and sharp-edged weapons used in the incident. The arrested accused have been identified as Pawan Kumar, Gurmukh Ram, Bunty, Simranjit, alias Simma, Ajay, Raj Kumar, Sandeep Gupta, Ankus, Anil, alias Golu, Anarjit, alias Kanwa, and Vijay, all residents of Phillaur. Several other unidentified individuals involved in the clash are being traced. SSP Jalandhar Rural, , Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said the incident had caused panic and unrest. Immediate action was taken under strict surveillance and a case was registered at Phillaur. SSP Khakh further elaborated that the operation was executed under the supervision of SP Investigation, Jas, roop Kaur Batth, and DSP , Phillaur, Sarwan Singh Bal.
