The case was registered against Kripal Singh, his wife Surinder Kaur, son Gurjeet Singh and their two daughtersin-law on the complaint of Gurpreet Singh (51) of Model village. As per the complaint, Gurpreet had a old property dispute with Kripal, which was pending in a court. It ruled in Gurpreet’s favour and gave him possession of the property. On March 13, he reached the spot along with bailiff Bahadur Khan and labourers to implement the order. When Kripal and his kin were told about it, they allegedly started abusing them. Later, Kripal and his son climbed onto the roof and opened fire with a rifle. Two of the boys were studying in Class XII at a Ludhiana school while the third victim was a Class XII student of an Amritsar school. The police took the bodies into their custody for postmortem examination. On a complaint by Sabodh Lal of Guru Nanak Estate, Sahibana Road, an FIR was filed against an unidentified tipper driver. As per information, Lal’s son Ankush, along with VICTIMS WERE STUDENTS OF CLASS XII Two of the 18-year-old victims, Ankush and Akashdeep, were studying in Class XII at a Ludhiana school while Sudram was a Class XII student of an Amritsar school. The Police Division 7 have registered a case against the unidentified tipper driver and launched a probe to identify the suspect. Ludhiana, March 15 Within a swift 12-hour span, the police in Khanna solved the murder case of a 16-yearold girl whose naked body was found near railway tracks in Alaud village. The victim, a resident of Iqbal Nagar in Mandi Gobindgarh, had been missing since the evening of March 11. The authorities apprehended Sanjeet Kumar (26), a resident of Mandi Gobindgarh, in the case. The body of the girl was found on March 13. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amritpal Singh Bhatti said the discovery occurred following alerts from village residents Dalvir Singh and sarpanch Gurmail Singh. Upon arrival, officers found the girl’s GLADA office to remain open today Ludhiana, March 15 The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) office is taking steps to facilitate applicants seeking regularisation of plots and buildings in unauthorised colonies. To accommodate the applicants, the GLADA office would remain open on Sunday (March 16) and process no objection certificates (NOCs). Staff will scrutinise received NOC applications to ensure a smooth process. To further assist the public, special NOC camps will be set up in the area starting Monday, March 18. The camps will provide a platform for the applicants to address any NOC-related issues and obtain necessary certificates. After getting information, a large number of police personnel, led by ADCP Prabhjot Singh Virk, reached the place to control the situation. The police had cordoned off the area but migrants continued to create hue and cry. To control the situation, the police used mild lathicharge to disperse them. A PCR motorcycle was also damaged by the crowd and some police officials suffered minor injuries while controlling the. Stones, bricks and bottles were pelted at each other by members of both groups due to which glasses of the mosque were damaged. The Ludhiana police registered a case against 21 persons — Vinod, Ajit, Kashi Ram, Gagan, Ashok, Krishna, Krishan, Sandeep, Pappu, Manoj, Vidyarthi, Jatinder, Dharmin- Ludhiana, March 5 The Daba police have registered an FIR under Sections 409 and 420 of the IPC against the head teacher of Government Primary School (GPS), Sekhewal, here, for bungling of funds. The case was registered by the police on the basis of a complaint filed by the District Education Officer (Elementary Education) here. The complaint was lodged after many irregularities were found by the Education Department at Government Primary School (GPS), Giaspura, where Nisha Rani, was the head teacher. During her tenure, she had allegedly demanded extra grants under the mid-day meal scheme, uniform grants, scholarship grants, etc. The school had approximately 2,500 students but the head teacher claimed excessive grants from the government by showing more student strength than the actual at the school. After the department came to know about mass irregularities and discrepancies in the school, Nisha Rani was on the radar of the department. The DEO, Ravinder Kaur, and other inquiry officials visited the school to collect records but The spot where the clash occurred in Ludhiana. On the basis of the CCTV footage and statement of representatives of the mosque, a case was registered against the migrants. ADCP Prabhjot Virk said as per the initial investigation, a case was registered against 21 identified persons and 13 were already arrested. A clash had occurred between the migrants and Muslim community members. During the initial probe, migrants were booked and in further probe, if role of any other persons from the Muslim community was found, their names would be added to the FIR accordingly. Investigation in the case was on and further action will be taken as per merit and those found guilty in the case will face action. c m y b She was suspended in Oct 2024 after irregularities were found at Giaspura GPS they allegedly did not get any support from the head teacher. After a complaint was lodged with the higher authorities, the Education Department suspended the in-charge of GPS, Giaspura, Nisha Rani, with immediate effect in October 2024. The DEO Elementary, Ravinder Kaur, had claimed that several discrepancies were found in the school then and the in-charge had even refused to cooperate with inquiry officer Gurdeep Singh. She had maintained that there was bogus attendance of students, dummy admissions and fund embezzlement in the school. Not only that, many teachers were allegedly threatened to remain tight-lipped. “But since Nisha Rani was influential, she was reinstated in November again,” said one of the teachers of the Giaspura school. Now, after several meetings with higher-ups, it was decided to get an FIR lodged against Nisha Rani. The FIR was lodged on March 13 by the Daba police. He admitted to strangling the girl and inflicting head injuries on her near the railway lines on the night of March 11. Later, Sections 137 and 96 of the BNS were added to the FIR. The police clarified that sexual assault remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, Khanna DSP Amritpal Singh Bhatti confirmed the arrest of the suspect. Factory worker attacked, robbed of motorcycle, cash Ludhiana, March 15 A youth returning home from work on a motorcycle was hit on the rear of his head with a heavy object by miscreants. After looting his motorcycle, cash and mobile, the suspects fled the scene. The victim remained unconscious for several weeks. After regaining consciousness, he recounted his ordeal, following which the Sadar police registered a case against unidentified assailants on the complaint of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Khanpur Road Sangowal, on Friday. As per information, Vijay Kumar works at a factory in Haibowal. On the night of January 16, he was returning home after finishing work. When he reached near Gill Dairy at Gill village, he slowed down his motorcycle due to fog. Afterwards, one of the assailants attacked him on his head with a heavy object. After the severe blow, Vijay fell unconscious. The assailants took away his motorcycle, cash and a mobile. The next morning, when some passers-by took him to his home in an unconscious state. Vijay Kumar said he had two sisters and a differently abled brother. The entire family’s responsibility lies on him. He also used to do overtime in the factory to earn extra money. He said due to the assault, blood had clotted in his head. He remained unconscious for several weeks. His family took him to several doctors. Even after regaining consciousness, he was not fully recovered. Vijay appealed to the police to arrest the culprits and give them severe punishment. — TNS
