The much-awaited iceskating sessions at the iconic Shimla Ice Skating Rink have begun, and both tourists and locals are enjoying themselves on the ice. Currently, the over 100-year-old rink is running only the morning session, from 8 to 9:30 am. For one fun-filled session inside the skating rink, one has to shell out Rs 300. For those wanting to skate for the entire season, from December to the first week of February, the fee has been divided into two brackets – under-16 and above -16. “For the under-16 skaters, the membership fee, which includes skates charges, has been fixed at Rs 3,000. The above-16 skaters will have to pay Rs Rs 4,500 for the season,” said Pankaj Prabhakar, joint secretary, Shimla Ice Skating Club.
