It is only a social media initiative right now. When the news of a thief returning Covid-19 medicines went viral last month, Richa was inspired to come up with this initiative with the help of the co-founder, designer Krishan Jagota, who is also the community head at Fluid. Says Richa, “The KINDry will not be about fluffy pink clouds and unicorns, but incidents actually happening around us that don’t get amplified as much as they ought to. Keeping it together Noble aim Akshay Kumar to help 3,600 dancers with monthly ration Due to the lockdown, film shoots in Mumbai are on hold, which has affected several technicians, backstage dancers and junior actors, who work on daily wages. To lend a helping hand, Akshay Kumar has stepped up and will reportedly support 3,600 dancers with monthly ration amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Sharing the news, choreographer Ganesh Acharya said for his 50th birthday (June 14), Akshay Kumar had asked him what he wanted as a gift. Acharya had requested him to help 1,600 junior choreographers and aged dancers, and 2,000 background dancers with monthly ration. Acharya revealed that Akshay Kumar agreed to his wish. He said that the dancers and the choreographers who are registered with them will either get money to afford the essentials or the ration kit to feed their families. The decision will be theirs. Meanwhile, through Ganesh Acharya Foundation, the choreographer and his wife have been doing their bit to help people of their fraternity. Producer Rajan Shahi’s three successful shows, Anupamaa, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2 and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH), all airing on Star Plus, are being shot inside a bio-bubble in Gujarat. But then came along cyclone Tauktae! Actor Karan Kundrra, who has joined the cast of YRKKH, shared on his Instagram stories how the cyclone destroyed the sets in Silvassa. While the crew was trying to save the expensive equipment, Kundrra could be heard shouting bhago bhago (run, run) in the background. Producer of the song, Raman Kumar Rammi, says, “We had a ninemember team for everything and followed all Covid protocols. We also made sure the whole team was tested before bringing them on board. We shot the entire video in one day.” Another song, Befikar Raho, shot fifteen days ago inside a bio-bubble in Mumbai, features Bigg Boss-fame Dalljiet Kaur and Umar Riaz. The producer, Goru Dogra, says, “Shooting went on for two days in Film City, Mumbai. We were lucky to have concluded it before the cyclone hit Mumbai, otherwise we would have had to postpone the shoot or look for another location.” On the outskirts Actor Saahil Uppal, antagonist in the show Pinjara Khubsurti Ka, says, “As the Ahead of its release, the season two of The Family Manhas landed in controversy as many have taken offense at the portrayal of Tamilians in the show. the struggle of the Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka. Although there are restrictions, like we are not allowed to go out and viceversa, but this is safer than the situation outside.” Shifting base Yash Patnaik, producer of Ishq Mein Marjawan 2, shifted base from cyclonehit Goa, where they were shooting earlier, to Siliguri in West Bengal. But, according to Indian Meteorological Department, cyclone Yaas (pronounced as Yass) is likely to hit the place now! Many producers are also opting for places that are away from the city to ensure the safety of their cast and crew. ISHQ MEIN MARJAWAN 2 MANN KI AWAAZ PRATIGYA 2 The Family Man is in trouble! Ahead of its release, season two of Manoj Bajpayee-starrer The Family Man has landed in controversy as many have taken offense at the portrayal of Tamilians in the show. On Sunday, Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko had written a letter to Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar, seeking a ban on the series. On Monday, the Tamil Nadu government requested Javadekar to either stop or ban the release of The Family Man 2 for allegedly depicting the Eelam Tamils in a negative light. The letter says that the trailer of the show presented Tamilians in a “highly objectionable manner” and there was an attempt to discredit ANUPAMAA have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards our Tamil people. We have put in years of hard work into this show, and we have taken great pains to bring to our audiences a sensitive, balanced, and riveting story – much like we did in Season 1 of the show. We request everyone to wait and watch the show when it releases.” Meanwhile, sharing his views, filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to Twitter on Tuesday and wrote, “The objections raised by some sections to Family Man S2 (even before its release) are a test of the new OTT guidelines and their effectiveness in addressing such potentially frivolous, but disruptive complaints.” Kareena Kapoor Khan AAPKI NAZRON NE SAMJHA ‘Stay home, stay safe’ Kareena Kapoor Khan has been using her social media platforms to urge citizens to stay home and stay safe in these tough times. This time around, Kareena shared a Mumbai Police IG’s post, which is a part of their pop culture public service announcements series on Covid-19 safety regulations. Featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, the poster reads as, “Agar tum mask neeche ‘Kareena’ toh bohot un-‘Saif’ situation ho sakta hai.” Apart from this, Kareena also took to Instagram and wrote, “Stay home, stay safe... Don’t lose hope.” Meanwhile, on the Bollywood front, she will next feature in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, opposite Aamir Khan. She will also be seen in Karan Johar’s Takht.
