He said the final approval would be received only after getting funds sanctioned by the Finance Ministry. It may sound strange, but the city is set to get its first luxurious and hygienic “Loo Cafe.” On the lines of one already set up in Hyderabad, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is finalising a location for the Loo Cafe in the city. The civic body will run it on the build-operate-transfer (BOT) mode. The aim is set to change the perception of public toilets. It will have three washrooms (for men, women, and diyvangs), along with a cafe and space for an ATM. The cafe will be made attractive with interior colour schemes and proper hygiene. The plan is to have tea, coffee, samosas, French fries and sandwiches in the cafe. These things are also being planned to be home-delivered through Swiggy or Zomato. The employees, Surjit Lal (45) and Harsh (20), residents of Chandigarh and Lalru, respectively, told the police that they were sorting packets when four masked men barged into the office around 1 am and asked them to open the safe. When they resisted, the robbers hit one of them with a sharp weapon and decamped with ~6 lakh. The cashier of the company, Ankush, informed the police that he had a warehouse in Bhankarpur, named Elastic Run N-Tax Transportation Service, where couriers of the Flipkart company were stored. Several categories of cybercrime have been defined, which will be dealt by the police stations. As cyber criminals are on the prowl, the city has witnessed a steep increase in such cases in the past few years. The CCIC receives nearly 6,000 complaints every year. So far, 2,738 complaints have already been received till June 8, while there are only 68 police personnel at the CCIC to investigate these complaints and catch the elusive cyber criminals. As per police records, a total of 5,922 complaints were received in 2021 and 67 FIRs were registered. The institute has now requested the NHA, the implementing agency for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, to intervene so that the claims can be reimbursed. The PGI has also requested the Punjab Health Department for timely reimbursement of the dues. The Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana was launched on August 20, 2019. The scheme is designed to provide health protection by providing a financial cover to at least 65 per cent of the population of Punjab.
