They were demanding police action against a private hospital at Rama Mandi over a July 5 feud over parking there. The ex-servicemen accused the police of inaction against hospital staffers who attacked them. SSSC president Surjit Singh said he had gone to the hospital recently as Balwant Singh, an ex-servicemen had passed away following an accident. “As a committee, we reach out to all the families on such occasions. Drunken brawl: 2 held for killing friend Phagwara, July 23 The Phagwara police have arrested two persons on the charge of murdering their friend with sharp-edged weapons following a drunken brawl. SP Mukhtiar Rai said the arrested accused — Amanpreet and Goldy — murdered their friend Paramjit Singh (35) with sharp-edged weapons in a room of his house on July 18. The body was found on Thursday. He added that the deceased, Paramjit, was unmarried and worked as a dyer while Billy is a barber and Goldy a daily wager. The trio was friends and used to drink together, said the DSP They had a brawl . around 8.30 pm on July 18 when Paramjit used objectionable language about Amanpreet’s wife, he said.
