Inaugurated by Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh, the CLKA declared the awards in the Professional and Student categories, on the opening day of the prestigious event on July 22. In the Professional category, the awardees included Parvesh Kumar — Sculpture (WoodBronze), Rashmita Kanojia — Painting (MixMedia) and Rahul Dhiman (Relief Print on Paper). In the Student category, the awards were bagged by Sukhwinder Singh (Painting), Aarti (Woodcut-Print), Himanshi (Linocut-Print), Nitin Kumar (Etching-Print) and Shilpa Roy (Sculpture). Bheem Malhotra, chairman, CLKA, said, “The aim of the exhibition is to encourage talent and promote these works in a professional setting, where there is more interaction with art lovers.” From paintings and sculptures to prints and photographs to installations, as many as 230 artists in both categories submitted 560 works, out of which 136 were selected. The three-member jury for the exhibition comprised eminent personalities from the field of art, including Viren Talwar (painter), Rajan Shripad Fulari (printmaker) and Bolla Srinivas Reddy (sculptor). Amardeep Singh Gill, winner of the Special Jury Award, given to specially-abled artists, in the Professional Category, explains the thought behind his painting, Reawaken I and The Grevin Museum in the French capital has honoured Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan with a set of customised gold coins. The Grevin is a wax museum located on the Grands Boulevards on the right bank of the Seine river in Paris. A paparazzi shared the update on Instagram with a photo of the coin featuring SRK. This makes SRK the first Bollywood actor to have gold coins in his name at the museum. She shared, “I think it’s the best work from my side till date. It’s a story of a rape victim and an eyewitness of that incident. As for the Prime Video series, I am shooting for the second schedule. There’s also an EP coming as I have keen interest in singing also.” To associate with a brand is one thing, but to promote and vouch for it is another. Sara explained, “Today itself I was shooting for a hair brand. I am doing it because I use that brand’s shampoo and actually found it beneficial. So, I would always be genuine and authentic when becoming a face of the brand.” Having worked in many regional projects from different parts of India, Sara shared, “It’s easier to pick a lehza like Haryanvi and others, but, of course, it is a challenge to jump from one language to another while working on acting projects.” To beat the summer, mango and coconut are her favourite choices. About an innovative dessert that she makes for herself, Sara said, “I think I am very ‘vanilla’ in my choices. So, my personal favourite DIY dessert is mixing raw mango chunks with vanilla icecream and grating plenty of coconut over it.” This 90s kid also recollected her childhood when one could afford two matka kulfis for very less money. “Those were the days. I have had a humble background and lived in a village, and a rehriwalah would roam in summer to sell desi ice-cream. Celine Dion to return to stage with Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony Renowned singer Celine Dion, who has been battling a rare neurological condition called stiff-person syndrome, is expected to make a return to the stage at the Olympic Games. The singer is rumoured to be taking to the Paris Olympics stage during the opening ceremony on Friday. It will mark the pop legend’s first performance since halting her touring schedule and stepping away from the spotlight after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022. The singer arrived in Paris at the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-Elysees, where Lady Gaga, another potential opening ceremony headliner, is also staying. Specific details about Dion’s performance are being kept under wraps. Earlier, the Canadian singer teased that a comeback was likely during an interview where she said, “I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again.” She also said that she was working every day to get stronger, “For four years I’ve been saying to myself that I’m not going back, that I’m ready, that I’m not ready… As things stand, I can’t stand here and say to you: ‘Yes, in four months. “I don’t know… My body will tell me.” It turns out that she may indeed be performing in front of the famous Parisian landmark, as the opening ceremony will take place in the shape of a nautical parade along the Seine, culminating near the Trocadero, facing the Eiffel Tower.
