In a complaint to the police, Amit Kumar, also of Sector 28, alleged that a car being driven by Sonu (25), a resident of Sector 28-A, hit Rajeev Kumar near the ITI. The victim was taken to the GMSH-16 where doctors declared him brought dead. A case under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC was registered at the Sector 26 police station. The car driver was arrested and later released on bail. TNS MOBILE PHONE SNATCHED Chandigarh:Dhanas resident Durgesh Kumar reported that an unidentified motorcyclist sped away after snatching his mobile phone near the Sector 27/28/29/30 chowk on April 26. During a press conference on March 8, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit had stated that as many as 53 charging stations would be made functional by the end of March. Later, the authorities had assured to make the charging stations operational by the end of April. Now, they have claimed that it would take another month to energise them. As per officials of Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST), electricity connections had been applied for 15 charging stations and recently, approval was granted for seven to eight stations. Now, the work of laying cables would be started, they said, and added that power connections for 15 more charging stations had also been applied. The officials stated that nearly 35 charging stations would be made operational by May 31. The main reasons for the delay in making the charging stations functional was time taken in getting approvals from various departments and equipment stolen from the installed charging stations further deferred the operations, they added. The companies were to take nearly a month to replace the equipment stolen from the charging stations. The UT Administration had notified the EV Policy on September 20, 2022. As many as 23 charging stations were installed at nine locations across the city in November 2022. These stations have a total of 92 charging guns and an equal number of vehicles can be charged simultaneously. 9.3mm rain, mercury falls 3.5°C Chandigarh, April 27 Residents got some respite from rising heat as the city witnessed showers in the afternoon today. The city received 9.3 mm of rainfall, which brought down the temperature by 3.5°C. The Metrological Department has predicted rain on Sunday and Monday as well. In Chandigarh, the maximum temperature crossed 40-degree mark for the Man stabbed at Sec 33 park chandigarh, April 27 A 35-year-old man, who came to meet a woman, was stabbed on the shoulder and in the stomach by an assailant at a park in Sector 33 here today. The police said while Vikas and the woman were having a conversation, the alleged assailant, Anil, reached there and had an altercation with the victim. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim. He too received injuries in the scuffle. Sources said Anil and the woman were friends earlier. In a complaint to the police, Inder Mohan Sharma, who retired as a director of a private Delhi-based company, stated that he had received a WhatsApp message asking him if he wanted to earn money online. The man clicked on the link and followed the given advice. He was given easy tasks of clicking on YouTube links and subscribing to channels upon which he was paid Rs 50 to Rs 100. The complainant was then directed to make a profile on Telegram, a messenger, where another user used to give tips on lucrative investment. He was told that he could earn 30 to 40% profit on his investments. Sharma said he started investing money and paid Rs 34.28 lakh in 13 different transactions from one of his bank accounts.
