The ambitious reform is intended both to infuse confidence among a skittish industrial elite that has long struggled to regain the glory of the pre-terrorism decades and to generate enthusiasm among small and medium entrepreneurs. Jaishankar, addressing a press conference in Brussels alongside European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, said India had responded to the threat and practice of terrorism. Earlier Jaishankar, in interviews to two media houses, said the root cause of the conflict — 20% HIKE IN PAK DEFENCE BUDGET Islamabad: Amid tensions with India, Pakistan on Tuesday increased its defence budget by 20%, allocating PRs 2,550 billion ($9 billion) for the 202526 fiscal. PTI Two more bodies foundatlandslide siteinSikkim,toll6 Gangtok, June 10 Ten days after a landslide struck an Army camp at Chaten in North Sikkim, two more bodies were recovered from the site on Tuesday, taking the toll to six, a police officer said. “Two more bodies — a male and a female — have been recovered from the site of the landslide,” Mangan SP Sonam Detchu Bhutia said. The SP said that the bodies were yet to be identified. Three Army men had lost their lives and six had been reported missing in the June 1 incident. The bodies of three of the six missing persons have been recovered so far, Bhutia said. The rescuers had on Monday recovered the body of an Army man, Sainudheen PK. Kurukshetra, June 10 Demanding adequate compensation for his land acquired for the Kurukshetra-Pehowa state highway, a Pehowa resident today attempted to block the road by building a wall on it. Balwinder Singh and his family reached the state highway with bricks and labour, and started building a wall. Commuters were asked to cross the stretch from the adjoining fields. Soon, officials reached the spot and tried to persuade Balwinder not to build the c m y b wall. However, he refused to stop the work and demanded the due compensation.
