ANI Gurugram, June 4 Hundreds gathered in Gurugram today to bid farewell to five members of the Vivek Aggarwal family who perished in the Wednesday inferno at a South Delhi hotel. Among those who cried inconsolably was Prem Bansal, the father-in-law of Vivek Aggarwal, who had gone to the ill-fated Flourish Stay Inn around 8.30 am yesterday to deliver breakfast to his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. “I was right there outside the hotel as it went up in flames. I had arrived with breakfast for my children and found them trapped inside. I could do nothing to save them,” Bansal was heard telling relatives at Moksha Dham in Sector 32, Gurugram, where the sight of five pyres — all burning in a line — overwhelmed one and all. For Bansal, the father of Tarjini Aggarwal, life may well be a story of guilt now. “How will I live now, I just watched them die,” he cried, as hundreds gathered to say a final goodbye to the family that was not supposed to die yet. Bansal broke down on the shoulders of other mourning relatives as tears and shock filled the air. Surviving extended family members of the Aggarwals spoke in hushed tones about the family patriarch — Radhe Shyam Aggarwal — still on a ventilator in the ICU of Max, Saket, and unaware of the tragedy that has befallen his family. It was to tend to Radhe Shyam that Vivek, his wife Tarjini and daughters had checked into Flourish Inn, located at a stone’s throw from the hospital. continued on page 6 InWFIvsVinesh,SCnoto GovtlikelytobringdelimitationBillin expunge critical remarks nextsession, eyesDMK,TMCsupport Satya Prakash Animesh Singh Tribune News Service New Delhi, June 4 The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to expunge the Delhi High Court’s remarks against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) in its order allowing wrestler Vinesh Phogat to participate in the Asian Games-2026 selection trials, saying disposal of the Tarun Chugh HC called federation’s action ‘vindictive’ wrestling body’s petition did not mean it endorsed them.
