With hits like Titliaan, Naal Nachna from Dhurandhar, and Rang De LalfromDhurandhar: The Revenge, she blends intensity with versatility. Whether it’s a film or an independent track, I sing every song wholeheartedly, says Afsana Khan, who is happy to be part of Dhurandhar 2 song Rang De Lal Talking about Rang De Lal, Afsana shares that being part of the sequel came as a surprise. “I didn’t even knowI was in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. I got a call just two days before the song was recorded, and now it’s out there,” she says, adding that she’s happy her voice features in both films. For Naal Nachna, the excitement was instant. “When I got the call and was told it’s for Dhurandhar, I was already excited. Then I got to know about the star cast, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt and I knew I couldn’t let this chance go.” Despite the track being recorded earlier by another singer, she stayed true to herself. “They wanted my style, and I just gave my best.” Reflecting on a full-circle moment with Shashwat Sachdev, she recalls being considered for Bhangra Ta Sajda early in her career. “At that time, it wasn’t my time. But he remembered me after 7 to 8 years. That’s humanity,” she says. On the difference between film and independent music, Afsana keeps it simple, “A singer’s job is to sing. Whether it’s a film or an independent track, I sing every song wholeheartedly.” While she once leaned towards sad songs, she now enjoys exploring everything. “I like both, romantic heartbreak and high-energy tracks. It’s all about the feel.” Jasleen Royal collaborates with Badshah Singer-songwriter Jasleen Royal is set to collaborate with rapper Badshah for the emotionally romantic track Inaam. According to a statement, anchored in delicate production and stripped-back instrumentation, Inaam foregrounds Royal’s signature soft, expressive vocals as she traces the contours of a relationship defined by emotional security rather than fleeting intensity. Narrated from a feminine perspective, the song written by Ansh Chahal centers on a quiet but decisive realisation: that love, at its most enduring, is found in presence, not performance. It captures the warmth, stillness, and emotional safety of finding someone who feels like home. The release follows Koi Naam, where Jasleen Royal explored the ambiguity of undefined relationships capturing the emotional fallout of love without language or closure. Badshah lends an unexpected yet compelling dimension to the track, stepping away from his trademark high-energy persona to deliver a restrained, introspective performance. His contribution adds texture and emotional weight, folding seamlessly into the song’s melodic core. The result is a subtle tonal shift that expands his artistic range while preserving the track’s emotional restraint. Jasleen states, “Inaam is a very personal song for me. It is about the kind of love that walks into your chaos and quiets everything. It is the feeling of being held, like coming home, even when everything else feels uncertain. There’s a quiet kind of love in it, where their happiness matters just as much as your own. With this song, you’ll hear a different side of Badshah. We’ve all seen his high-energy side, but here, you get to hear something much more vulnerable and real.” Badshah states, “Inaam let me explore a quieter, more vulnerable side of my artistry. It’s simple, honest and something I think a lot of people will connect with.” Inaam is released via Universal Music and is available now on all platforms. — ANI eat ASIAN FLAVOURS PRINTMAKING SPRING POP-UP c m y b S PRING Fling is a stylish pop-up that brings together a refreshing mix of couture, pret, and resort wear, creating the perfect spring shopping experience.
